Actually, tons of aircraft were used for maritime patrol:

Sunderlands, B-24's, Halifaxes, Wellingtons, Beaufighters, Mosquitoes, Lancasters (?), Catalinas, Swordfish, etc., and many more not listed.

I doubt if "Faithful Annie" saw any overland usage. The Anson was being phased out of Coastal Command when the war started, and would have been dreadfully vulnerable in land operations. Recce for the Army was initially provided by Lysanders and later by camera equipped Spitfires and Mosquitos.

Usually a light transport or used as a taxi, I believe.

Yup the Annie was used only for maratime recce, and as a squadron utility transport. Even the Greeks didn't try it overland sorry.

"was the Avro Anson only used by the RAF for maritime"

Top Gun Ace, based on the grammar of the first part of the sentence, you answered correctly, thought the gist of the question comes by popular inference derived from the rest of it. Sorry… grading graduate papers today… what can I say.
