Dear Friends, I need Testudo figures in 28mm for a project: GRUNWALD! Since there are big problem to buy at TESTUDO I need some figures to finish my Grunwald project. Have you any suggestions for me? Where can I find these on Ebay? Thanks for help. Panshir |

No one has cancelled Essex Miniatures so far
As much as I can judge from pictures, Essex medieval knights are very similar in style to Testudo. So much so, that despite my liking Testudo figures, I was always bewildered by the overall excitement about them, thinking, "They are nice, but, we have seen similar stuff before
ESSEX!" Also, you can find figures for that period from Mirliton, Old Glory, and Front Rank. |

When I had some Testudo Knights when they first came out, I found that they mixed well with Front Rank figures. |

I've seen Testudo Teutonics very well painted at WAB tournament. Owners of the figures liked the sculpting, but complained about multi-part aspect of the figures and how hard it's to maintain those parts during transporting and even gaming. I usually glue all the parts before priming and generally have less problems with figures braking, but I can see this would be an issue if parts were painted separately and glued together after they were painted. As Imperial Forge mentioned, Essex also makes figures for the period, but sculpting is very different. Also, check Old Glory, they have Teutonics for 15th century in their Eastern Europe range. Good luck finding the Testudo figures though. |

That is odd about the figs falling apart. They can be a bit of a pain to get together but, like you, I prime after assembly and have never had any trouble with mine. And mine have been handled by a bunch of teenagers on a number of occasions. But yeah, good luck. I'm glad I got mine when I did. |
