Hello all I'm thinking of doing the WSS in 6mm and was wondering if anybody else out there already had armies for this period in 6mm and if you have any pictures of your battles available please? Any advice or opinions about the period in this scale would be helpful please. Thanks |

not exactly what you asked for but close. These are pics of my dual purpose late C17 Williamite / early C18 WSS force. Badically i use the same guys and leave out the 6 bases of pike. They are set up on the table, but no battle pics as I have not yet based the French. Opinions? Love her period and the scale, have played modified DBR and have bought but not played them yet. picture picture picture I am sold on 6mm for larger actions as nothing beats 1000 + figures a side. I haven't tried anyone else's figs but very happy with Peter Baccus's. Great service to boot.
lastly, I am firmly in agreement with the '6mm is easier to pain' school. I don't paint any 25s anymore. It takes me too long and looks like rubbish. I pay Sri Lankans to do them 10 x better than I can. But 6mm? Reasonably quick and I am quite happy with the results from 3 foot away. |

Gosh, terrible typos above. Sorry. "Love THE period' and 'Easier to PAINT' obviously. |

I've painted Malplaquet a couple of times for people in 6mm. I don't have pictures of the battles but I have some pictures of the last lot of troops I painted: link Neil reinforcementsbypost.com |

Baccus is the way to go. They have the largest range for this period and their own rules. You might look at buying their WSS boxed set which has everything you need to start in this period and scale. |

Yes, I have Austrian, British, Bavarian and French armies from Baccus already! Just trying to decide if I want to do WSS or sell them and do SYW? Decisions, decisions

Sell away if they're unpainted, but never sell painted lead if you're happy with the paint job. Just get 7YW as well. Put them in a cupboard somewhere until yu decide WSS is the way to go again. They don't take up much room. |

Here are a couple of blogs with 6mm WSS: link link (For the second link, you'll have to search around a bit as the gamer does other periods and scales as well.) |

You're welcome, Whatisitgood4atwork. And mounting for grand tactical level Napoleonics are shown at the Spanish link to the Napoleonic Wargamers of Toronto web site: link (If that might ever interest you; or see some mounting to adapt to the WSS.) |
