Wow, what took you so long to realize that Tolkien stole most if not all of his best names from France, Germany, Austria, and other parts of the world and used them unapologetically in his books. The Duke de Rohan had a very good regiment though – even if the flag was a bit monochromatic if you asked me.

In the same vein, would the Mordor forces have Prussian or British flags? I am thinking they would be British to go along with the Flintloque version of the world.

Yeah, Tolkien was such a poor author. Any good fantasy or sci-fi name has to have lots of apostrophes to show how "different" it is. LotR would have been far better with G'an'd'alf and F'rod'o B'a'ggi'ns.

And there was me thinking about 7YW Rohirrim etc, hobbits in Tricornes does have a certain appeal I have to say.

The Urruk Hai would probably go tinkies on their lace, though

no snuff and ruffles either for the uruk's, although they probaly would enjoy the sadistic ncos though!

Okay, spewing coffee – Orks in lace – can just see it now as a re-invention of the Marquis de Sade

Yeah, I actually thought this was a good idea when I first read the title…

I see possibilities here – Zvezda GNW, Caesar orcs. With head and hat changes; hmmm… A new HOTT army.

Heresy! Plastic figures and fantasy on the 18th. cent. board.
