All the recent interest in ACW has made me drag out my unpainted hordes, mostly old Wargames Foundry and a few Redoubt. I need to purchase some guns, who do you think does the best 28mm ACW artillery?

I like Foundry but I have some Old Glory that are OK and cheaper. Perry Miniatures has a gun with 2 barrel varieties and the site now shows their ACW offerings. I would check that out since they sculpted the Foundry ACW guns. The Perry's gun comes with crew.

I haven't seen it in person yet, but just from the pictures I would give the nod to the Perry guns.

I don't like their figures, but Old Glory's guns are great. I'd buy them.

Dixon guns are nice clean casting with little or no flash. PLus they have a very complete range. They are a little pricy as compared to Old Glory, but they're my first choice.

Redoubt are really good stuff. I mix them with Foundry and Old Glory

I like Sash and Sabers stuff.

Firing Line used to make the best. Redoubt have some unusually large wheels (thick). Dixon are way undersize. OG has the best deal for the money. I have to agree with Pictors about the Perry guns.

I have Sash and Saber and Redoubt. Redoubt are nicely detailed, but very chunky and quite big.

Like their figures (which I love, by the way)!

Firing Line are still available here imn the UK from Bicorne Miniatures, anybody know what they are comparable with sizewise?

I have some Dixon I use for Maxmillian Mexico but do feel they are too small.

I have Foundry, which I like – a bit dated, but they work well – I like the look of the new Perrys

Sash & Saber

andysyk, I would put them against Sash&Saber. The wheels might be slightly higher, which I think is good. And you get all the accessories as well.

I think Firing Line is the best and they had a full line of unusual guy types! They fit with Old Glory, Redoubt and Foundry. I do not like Sash and Saber. The guns don't fit well on the carriages and they are missing the straps that hold them in place.
