Couldn't they at the very least call it something else? The "Version X.0" is getting rather annoying. Also, I'll believe it when I'm holding my very own personal copy; up until then I'll treat it as vapourware. |

From the threads on the Iron Winds Metals' forums, it is really looking like it will come to fruition. I'm very excited, although I can't say I'm excited about them putting two forces into one Army Book instead of them giving each one their own. |

The two-forces-at-once format worked for Dark Age for a while, though they have now run out of clear fronts to detail both sides of. I'm not sure Vor lends itself to the same treatment, since it really isn't a mappable conflict. |

I'm interested in this development. Vor is a great game, too bad Fasa closed it's doors before the lines could be fully produced. I'd love to see it come back. Ironically, within 10 minutes of me reading the news of this last night, I get a call from one of the guys in my club telling me he bought a Vor boxed set based on my suggestion and wanted me to teach him how to play. However, I've experienced enough in this industry to not hold my breath. |

would be good, vor is a fantastic system and the fluff is cool as well. But I will wait untill i have it in my steely grip! The miniature range still stands up well even now. I hope they dont mess with it too much. |

I'm all for seeing more figures released. Never a bad thing. |

I'll keep an eye out for it, for sure. But I'm not holding my breath. |

ditto. Some of the miniatures lines could do with a serious overhall; the Union Special Forces models, and Neo-Sov Rad-Troopers. The former look like deformed shimps, and the latter are simply too bulky to be believable as emaciated conscripts. |

Hey! Some of those Union Spec Ops guys are cool. wierd but cool. |
| CmdrKiley | 30 Apr 2008 1:08 p.m. PST |
I thought the Union Special Forces were some of the best of the bunch. Seemed like the regular Union Infantry looked a bit cartoony. |

Farstar 29 Apr 2008 2:53 p.m. PST: "I'm not sure Vor lends itself to the same treatment, since it really isn't a mappable conflict" I do think they had a bit of that "favourite enemy" wibe going with Vor already. Of course this wasn't mappable as it is in DA, but Union vs. Neo-Sov is duhworthily obvious, and they did have the Shard set up against the Pharon and the Ceru against the Golems very clearly as well. IIRC they also had a campaign book where the climax was pretty much about the Zykhee vs. the Growlers but maybe the memory doesn't serve. The Mashers are a bit of an odd one out tho. Anyway, it's of course nice if Vor can be finally brought back properly. But I won't be distributing this information before they roll out the first book -- seen enough promises to the same effect already. And I'm still sour about never getting the Pharon weapon pack blister (-;) |

>Anyway, it's of course nice if Vor can be finally brought >back properly. But I won't be distributing this >information before they roll out the first book -- seen >enough promises to the same effect already. True enough. However there are some things that make this look possible: 1. The miniatures haven't gone out of production. Iron Wind is still cranking them out and sells at least one order per week. 2. There is a strongish cult following for the system. The game was very popular in its day and there are a lot of folks who remember it. 3. GW has soured a lot of folks. There is a market for a sci-fi skirmish game in 30mm. Maybe there is room in this particiular nitch. 4. Skuzzy has the rights and the brains to kick off the ball and he is talking like crazy about a VOR 2.0. A 2d edition book shouldn't be too expensive to throw out. Plus it appears that Skuzzy has a company who wants to run it. The company hasn't identified itself yet
but the guy who got hammered eariler about announcing this (balrog21) may very well be the one who talked Skuzzy into restarting VOR. Skuzzy dropped off the face of the Earth after FASA closed its doors. Now he is back and posting on Iron Wind. I don't think Skuzzy would have reappeared for nothing. All of that makes me think that VOR has a decent chance of making a come back. There is another thing- there is lot of excitment about the game at Iron Wind's discussion boards and a lot of folks are talking about breaking out the minis and running games. That alone could start some buzz about the game. Afterall, VOR didn't tank because of popularity or lack thereof. It went under with FASA. Do I expect it to appear like a Phoenix rising from the ashes? Maybe
but I do think it has a fighting chance. |

link Here is a link to the would be publisher's comments. So if Skuzzy has a decent publisher, the rights to the game, the ability to write and update the rules then VOR might be in business. A fighting chance. Heck, if Palladium Books can pull off a minor miracle then why not VOR? |

Word back during the fall of FASA was that Skuzz got all the words back, as his original contract had stipulated, but FASA held on to the art as they had commissioned all of it themselves. That has apparently still not been resolved, but it looks like the will and the ability to get new art done has emerged. |
