Hi everyone; I posted the rest of the story on my blog about our re-fight of the Naval Battle of Santiago. Check it out here. mrjoesworld.blogspot.com I had to go out of town last Friday to Monday evening, was away from my computer. But I couldn't wait to get back and finish this story. I am very happy that you all enjoy this write up. Many thanks to all of you that supplied great info on things like ramming and Squadron Commands. I remember the Spanish player saying he intended to ram during the game, but he missed and now I don't know who was ramming what. The Squadron Commands were a fun part of the game, but weren't used as much in this type of melee. Good gaming; Joe |

Nice! So, the Spanish won? They escaped with a cruiser, better than in real life

You're right KLH; That gave our Spanish commander some consolation as he spent most of the game, marking off hull boxes on the other ships. In this game, it was harder to get a hit than anyone expected. We also tinkered with placement of the American ships (how far out should they be)to give the Spanish some chance and yet, have them run a gauntlet of fire. In the final turns, I couldn't keep up with the placing of Golf Tee/Shell Splashes. Joep |
