As some people will know I publish the original von Reisswitz Kriegsspiel rules written in 1824 by an officer in the Prussian Guard Artillery. Looking through the papers I have I have discovered that one of the actions von Reisswitz was involved in during the Napoleonic Wars was Glogau in 1813 where he won the Iron Cross.

I was wondering if anyone could give me any ideas where I might find anything out about this action as it would be interesting to trace Reisswitz's involvement. It certainly makes his rules seem all the more interesting when one considers that you have a set of Napoleonic rules written by someone who was there!

Hi,

The sources Digby Smith gives for his entry on the Siege of Glogau in his Data Book are:

Plotho: Der Krieg in Deutschland and Frankreich in der Jahren 1813 & 1814.

Sporschil: Die Grosse Chronik.

Hope this helps

Regards
