Hi All -- We featured this guy in Wargames Journal this past weekend -- and I highly recommend downloading it, it's a great mag! For those of you who haven't seen it, we wanted to show what we have in store for the Field of Glory Legions Triumphant companion book coming in June. This is a work-in-progress sculpt of a 28mm (to the eyes) legionary in lorica segmentata. The pose is actually taken from the main Field of Glory rule book cover (although we changed him from a centurion to a line legionary): link Enjoy! Tony Wargames Factory wargamesfactory.com |

Very nice. While I'm probably gonna get a box or two of the Republican troopies, I really like the Imperials better. |

From the next news article down: "Although we didn't include any Celt naked warriors
" I won't fault you for skipping the nekkid Celts. I mentally added "naked warriors" to "multi-pose plastics" and quickly decided that there were, er, "bits" that would stay on the sprue, thankverymuch. |

Why is he holding a sword in his hand AND in his scabbard? Is this model going to be an option to hold a pilum instead? The upper chest parts of this segmented armor look a little off, but that could be the angle of the pose. |

They also look like they have been spending a little too much time in garrison eating more than they should :) |

Onomarchos, you must be thinking of of Legion III Anarexia. If that model was any thinner there'd be no room for a human torso inside that armour. |

"Why is he holding a sword in his hand AND in his scabbard? Is this model going to be an option to hold a pilum instead?" They have written on one of their figure previews that since the models are plastic you can choose to snip the hilt off off the scabbard if the Legionary is holding his sword or leave it on if he has an arm holding a pilum. I hate to sound like a certain other poster who made a habit of harping on this, but are these photos of actual models or more 3-D computer illustrations? I have yet to see anything that looks like a finished product and I am extremely curious to see them "in the flesh", as it were. |

AFAIK PC renders from 3d models. This image would be the equivalent of showing a "green." Damon. |

Looking really good so far. >Sculpted by Tim Barry, Art Director and Chief Sculptor How many other sculptors are there at the moment? |

What, no nudists? Can't have a celt army without nudists! |

The figure looks wonderful and the celt with the javelins is simply outstanding. Thanks for putting this up! Erik |

I really like the look of the latter figures. I agree with Farstar & elcid about some "less-clothed" Celts/Gauls. Dean |

I'll never forget the shock an aunt had when she was examining my display (literally!) cabinet and realised my Greek slingers were starkers
hot tea with three sugars was definitely required! |
