looking for a set of skirmish rules for ecw. has anyone tried this one? is it any good? what about when combined with rules from once upon a time in the west indies? could someone suggest alternative rulesets to this one?

I have it and have used it. I like it. It is very small scale skirmish.(maybe 4 to 8 figure commands) The combat has hit locations, so I do up a stat sheet that includes a figure that can be marked with wounds/hits, and also weapons. I cover the sheets with clear plastic so players can mark them with a grease pencil. I also have OUTitWIndies, but have not run a game with them.

Try Blood and Swash, Thunder and Plunder, perfect skirmish rules for many periods including ECW.
