Ric, In other words something other than present day? In 28mm, you can look at the Mongoose "Battlefield Evolution" figures, and Copplestone's "Future Wars" range. In 40mm HLBSC has ultra-modern US and I think Soviet forces. |

TAG (US and Brits), Devil Dog (USA, Brit and Canadian), Black Scorpion (USA). |

I'm Canadian, and I'm pretty sure Canada doesn't have any ultra modern anything. |

I would second the HLBSC figs--they are excellent! |

"Ultra-modern" was how HLBSCo labelled its present day range, which includes Brits, too. But I think they are 1/48 rather than 40mm. The TAG, Devil Dog and Black Scorpion US figures all came out before the US adopted the new digital camo uniforms. Are they still up-to-date with a different paint job? |

You bet Steve. When I was in Iraq a lot of Marines bought their own load bearing gear (to hold magazines, water ect) plus drop holsters for hand guns so yes I think IMO that its just a matter of paint job. But I will say the HLBS are really big and there is not enough of them to make the jump into buying them. |

Warch out for the devil Dog designs andian miniatures. they are modeld on hte early 80s equipment, which is quite a bit different(netting and such) from more recent equipment. or so my freind in hte candian forces told me after seeing them at historicon. Steve |

Early '80's? Not the Devil Dog Design ones – That would mean steel pots and FNs. I have the DDD Canadian figures – and while I'm not saying they're totally accurate the kit is certainly more up to date than when I was a member of the Canadian Forces (early '90's). They look to me like they took a couple of the US infantry figures and redid the helmet to look more like the current Canadian one. They're not way off – I'd call them "close enough". |

Don't forget Stan Johansen minis either. Eureka has some nice modern Germans, and Dadi & Piombo have Italians with French possibly in the works. |

I have modern British from the Assault Group. Theyr'really nice figures but I could only find packs with two anti tank weapons in each 8 man blister which was anoying. |

Glen, any news on when your current British infantry will be out, ie the ones suitable for current day ops in Iraq and Afghanistan? |
