Hello all, I'm working on a project and I'm trying to find miniatures in 6mm scale that could work well as crewmen on ACW era vessels. I'm looking for crispness of detail and definitely 6mm scale.

I say 'definitely 6mm scale' as I remember a post some time back where someone was looking at getting into 6mm ACW and received numerous recommendations for 10mm miniatures. I'm not interested in 10mm miniatures in the least so please don't waste my time recommending them.

Any helpful recommendations for 6mm would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Eric

I've used 6mm figures – I will try to get the packet from my spares box and post details – it might take some time.

Thanks Tony, I appreciate it. Your models have caused me to enlarge the scale of my interests. :)

Sorry for the delay.

The 6mm figures I use are;
GHQ ACW-7 Lt field guns (2) w/crews – USA

GHQ ACW7 are 10mm figures. For 6mm figures you could try artillery crew from Baccus or Heroics & Ros. Adler also do 6mm ACW figures but their infantry and artillery look like gnomes. (Their cavalry are okay but might look a bit out of place on an ironclad)

Thanks for the tips guys! Today is payday so I'll have a look around and see about placing an order somewhere.

Ironclad? Who said anything about crewing an ironclad? Well, sorta…

I am so sorry, I looked in my spares box and the first to come out were the GHQ miniatures, I didn't think that they are for my German Landship project – see 'Yours in white wine sauce'

I've just read this thread and thought – what a stipid ass.

The 6mm figures are;

Heroics & Ros 1/300 scale Colonial British MC20 Artillery 12pdr B.L. from Navwar.

Please forgive me, it was a honest mistake.

Three landships and a steam walker – 10mm scale!

Competition rules are that illustrations/photos should not be posted until the competition ends, not long to go now.

In fact this weekend there should be another progress report – if I have time.

PS.

There is also a 'Pimp my Ride' Sci Fi competition on;
