I'm building a teutonic army and want to use some raw Prussian peasant levies to fill my infantry. It would look very nice if I could make this unit more nice looking by adding a banner, but I have no idea if the Prussian tribes of the 13th century had any banners at all. Any examples to plunder from the net? (I have all links to Teutonic banners including the Banderia Protonorum) |

Prussians were pagan and would probably have some animal themed banners or most likely animal heads. Use viking flags with animals or Germanic Barbarian standards in the form of animals or other things attached to the pole. Check Foundry website for free great looking Viking flags. Some "native" tribsmen had shields with Teutonic order cross. Perhaps newly converted units would have simple white flags with Teutonic cross. |
