I know we haven`t yet seen J61 – but I`m told its back from the printer.

So today I finished and printed out the master for J62 and began filing stuff ready for J63 (masters of covers, editorial, contence, ready built review columns, etc). I`ve realised theres virtually no WW2 scenarios in the bank and I`ll be struggling to find material to build core themes for future issues after J64 (which I asked about earlier last week).

I`m open to suggestions over future themes, but you have to back your own horse and provide material……..

I`m confident I can continue to produce your Journal at the present rate and on schedule if you are willing to support it by contributing.

We need – tabletop scenarios (all periods, but WW2 and pre WW2 is particularly poor). Articles – interesting stuff, uniforms, weapons, vehicles, units or battles, plus modelling, terrain building and painting. Reviews – some of you went to Salute and bought stuff – lets have a review lads, some of you buy more in a month than I do in an entire year – please take some time and review some of it. Traders – please try and send my new release updates so I can build adverts – this is FREE advertising to over 400 potential customers, its for your benefit as well as making my life easier.

??

What is "bagging"?

Akin to begging?

Gracias,

Glenn

I hope you meant "begging"…

nycjadie22 Apr 2008 6:09 a.m. PST

Bagging in my terminology means "throwing in the towel".

Sod off – its been a hard day :-)

I told you all i wasn`t the best choice as editor ;-)

Richard,

I have long wanted to contribute and have envied those who have, but I personally never found the time to do so. There's just never seems to be enough time in the day! Perhaps I wil yet…

Nevertheless, here are a three ideas:

- you could ask game companies advertising in the Journal to share sample scenarios. This might lead to interest in their products.

- you could ask gamers participating in future and widely-attended conventions to share their scenarios, so as to attract players.

- you could run some sort of contest for the best scenario to encourage submissions.

Hey George,

I just did that very thing this morning. I sent Richard a scenario from my new book, and promised him another new one in the next month or so. Its a great way to promote your own item, as well as helping out the Journal, and providing useful content for subscribers, no one loses…

George

Intersting ideas, thanks for your input.

Andy – thanks again for your submission.

George Buzby22 Apr 2008 9:53 a.m. PST

Richard,

You're certainly welcome. I want the Journal to succeed and continue.

Andy,

Hey, nice to see you again! What a small world it is. I'm sure folks would enjoy seeing the beautiful write-up you did for your Stalingrad game.

George, this hobby is certainly too small to not continuously bump into people… The scenarios for the Journal will not be Stalingrad, as those have already appeared in WSS magazine, these will be new ones…

Also, don't forget to let me know when you get the next game set up, my schedule precludes me from doing a lot outside of the house, but I want to make it if I can…

Richard,

If you email me offline I can send you more stuff from SkirmishCampaigns. I can give some CY6 scenarios and also a couple new WWII skirmish scenarios if you want.

Thanks lads, support much appreciated.

Richard, I guess you meant "blagging" :)

As I mentioned elsewhere I'm working on some naval stuff for you – also hopefully an air submission or two based on something I'm doing for Wessex Games 'Air War' series. If I'm relly lucky I'll have the first of my pro-painted Peter Pig XIV and Japanese stuff ready and could sort out some nice photos of same if you were interested.

David Manley23 Apr 2008 5:26 a.m. PST

(of course that should read "XIV Army")

Richard Baber23 Apr 2008 5:44 a.m. PST

Thanks David

Anything and everything will be greatfully received by this editor.

If debagging is forcibly removing someones trousers then bagging must be forcibly dressing someone in their trousers! :-)So come on people get writing or Richard will come round and do something nasty with your trousers!

skirmishcampaigns1124 Apr 2008 8:10 p.m. PST

Fred,

You must stop talking about "trousers" – you are making me afraid…
