Does anyone have a good book or internet source on the 11th Poona Horse Regiment in WWII? A close friend has just lost his grandfather (who served in this regiment in WWII) and would like to better understand his history. Any help is appreciated. |

The Poona Horse were the 17th rather than the 11th, I believe. Regimental history here; only a dozen pages on WW2, but it's a start: PDF link Dom. |

For what its worth I met a Poona Horse veteran about 20 years ago, he was a Major back in the day. Lovely bloke, still firing on all cylinders. Struggling on a pretty measly pension though, we thought. Living in a bedsit in Streatham of all places. |

Dom, This is really great. Thanks. Will confirm it was the 17th. Scott |
