Standing at the check-out isle yesterday, I spied a single pack of Starwars pocket models sitting the it's display box.

I saw what looked to be and assortment of interesting little figures and promptly thru it in the cart.

Open it up and it's garbage… a couple of droid transports and a ugly looking walker. Boo, hiss

When will I learn that collectible means I will never get the ones I want.

Come now, you are a gamer and you can certainly deceive yourself that you will one day find a use for those models. Now stick them away somewhere so when the day comes that they are actually useful, you won't be able to find them. This is what gaming is all about.

Collectible to me means "only buy from a website that sells singles." I would rather wear a red ant-infested hair shirt over a sunburn than buy random booster packs.

I just bought two cases of the star ship version to play StarWars with my little girl (she loves Anakin). I'll build cool fleets then e-bay all the ships I don;t want, that look sucky etc.

Some day I want to do the same with the plastic figures but then I'll buy singles and build the exact forces I need.

Thump, thump, thump, and another one bites the dust!

Collecitbles = collective frustration. The greatest learning method is random reinforcement. The pigeon doesn't get a corn kernel everytime it pecks the red disk, just often enough to keep it pecking away like mad.

But, who am I to decry another's form of pleasure? I prefer whips and chains myself when I'm in that kind of mood :o).

I normally only buy things like that from ebay and as singles.

I learned that after playing MtG for around 6 years and 1000s of packs later.

I don't play the game so I don't know why I bought it.

I guess I'll just store it next to my CCG box with the unused dragon dice, assorted dead card games, and small fleet of WotC cardboard pirate ships forgotten about in there. :)
