Hey all!

I am sure that I have put up enough posts about my blog, but now I actually have a question.

Do people like the current way I have posted about my collections; namely, doing all the French 25mm Nappy collection at once?

Or would people rather see a mix of collections featured in a row? You know… a 25mm French Nap unit followed by a 15mm WWII German unit followed by a 15mm ACW Federal unit?

I put a poll up on the page (left hand side) so if people could share their opinions, I would appreciate it.

My blog:

Thanks so much,

To Lord Ashram

I think your Blog is fine the way it is set out, on Blogs, my own view is that the Blog should be written to satisfy the writer or owner rather than the viewer. A bit like a diary that can be read by other members of the family.

Since starting my own Blog I have not even thought about how the entries should develop, just written them as the ideas evolve or in the case of newly finished models, when the models are finished.

I would further suggest that if you write for your own enjoyment – then this pleasure will come through in your Blog.

Keep up the good work, I voted for mixed entries.

Ash,

Tony's got it right in one. Make it two votes for mixed as it has been going.

I like the mix. Though when paiting I usually do an entire regiment of one era of another.

Doug, I really enjoyed your sites, thanks!

I am definately doing it for my own joy, but to be honest I also do it for the joys of others!:) I love finding a nice blog of toy soldiers; simply LOVE it. It is such a treat. So I want to keep mine looking nice and simple to use and, most importantly, to keep new stuff coming… nothing worse than a blog that goes silent!:)

I am leaning towards doing a single collection at a time. It just feels… more organized:) But I also see the spice in varying it up; would appeal to a larger base if I included the ocassional WWII piece.

Is fantasy out of line tho? Right now my blog "feels" like it should be historical in nature:)

Uhhh… anyone?

Hey there … I qualify as anyone, so I'll respond.

(a) do what you feel inspired to do. It will be a pleasure to do rather than a chore, and that will spur you on to doing even more.

(b) nothing wrong with fantasym or sci-fi, or pulp, or whatever strikes you (Santa versus the Snowmen). When you've done something, just go to the appropriate board and post a mention of it so that those who might care to see will drop in.

If you were to focus entirely on Napoleonics, for example, those interested in the period will possibly bookmark you and drop by from time to time without prodding. Those who don't care one bit about the period will never come back.

So just remind (target) interested parties as the articles appear and you will be fine.

Steve
