I'm here in New Orleans, and saw a beautiful case of Britains Civil War Miniatures. They're quite nice. But I wonder, do any gamers collect Britains? Anyone collect vintage Britains? New? Which periods?

I didn't realize that new ones were being made. I've seen vintage Brits before, but couldn't afford the darn things.

No Britains.
Lucottes, Mignot, Frontline, and Tommy Atkins.

I use their 54mm cavalry for my custer on the plains campaign mixing them with DSG, Airfix and some BMC

I have around 100 old hollow cast Britains figures, including a couple of boxed cavalry sets that have never been removed from the box, they are all on display in a cabinet in my lounge. My sons love looking at them, often sneaking a figure out to look out when I am not in the room!

I do. I haven't picked up any since ERTL sold them off. The price got pretty steep.
I was in the process of collecting the Queen's Coronation set and got 2/3's completed before stopping due to finances.

I have learned to be a little selective in my purchases. I have added Trophy, Conte, and King/Country to the mix as well.

I have a (very) few old Britains foot, and about a
hundred or so of the newer lines (80's and to now).

Even a couple of Swoppets !

Have a collection of ACW Swoppets – Could not afford the gun teams when I was a kid – now my bank manager still says I cannot afford them.

Those new ACW miniatures are very good. They are pricy though. At the window display at the toy store were about 4 gray beards admiring them. I wonder if they are now being purchased by guys who don't paint or play. Seems to me they would be. They're not cheap. Of course, neither are painted 54mm miniatures, like John Jenkins'.

I have a few hundred of them that were my father's. He started collecting them when he was very sick as a child and couldn't get out of bed for several weeks. I wish I could get the new ones, but just can't afford them.
