Anyone else think the action scenes looked lame?

Farstar17 Apr 2008 3:04 p.m. PST

A side effect of blue-screen work that takes a lot of training and *good* choreography to overcome.

Oh, man, forget the action scenes, the whole thing looked lame. The "actresses" look more like strippers from the local "gentleman's club". They have no idea how to move. The whole affair was so cheesy looking, I kept waiting for the punch line, expecting it to turn into a commercial for Doritos or Domino's. PU!

"Pirettes"

- they sit on your shoulder and say "pieces of eight" don't they? :-)

Did the lighting seem wrong too?

I think with inconsistant lighting, it makes the blue screen painfully obvious. Also a lack of anything in the foreground to give the scene depth.

But still, cool :) I like that people are out there expressing their creativity.

If you're going to have party wenches as seadogs, then you might as well go all the way.

ABSOLUTELY NOT WORK SAFE!!!!

There was some consternation by the ship's owners when they found out what type of movie it was used for – after filming had concluded.

Holy flog!!! They're filming a sequel!

Oy.

According to the site, that's not a real movie, just a "promo" which, I presume, is used to sell the idea to a studio.

Wyatt, did you post a dirty link? Those guys over on Frothers are going to be all upset again…

Really? Why? Is it because I didn't post it over there first?

I could've done worse – I could've posted a link to a scene from "Pirates" starring Walter Matthau or "Cutthroat Island" starring Gena Davis.

I take that back, I could've posted a link to a Photoshopped image of Walter Matthau in the Zardoz banana hammock.

The "Battle" clip was better. Lot's of fun ideas, actually…

I could've done worse – I could've posted a link to a scene from "Pirates" starring Walter Matthau or "Cutthroat Island" starring Gena Davis.

Or, even worse, a link to a scene from "The Pirate Movie" with Kristy McNichol…

*shudder*
