Hi all,

Back from Wargames Illustrated 242 onwards in the Mercenary Captains TYW article series – What models are used in the pictures?

I think I recognize some Foundry in there, but am not sure. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Rev.

The ones in the most recent issue (the article about Tilley) were from The Assault Group.

Thanks ! Would you happen to know the ones in the 1st article, the Dutch army list?

Thanks,

Rev.

Tell you the truth, and i don't want to take people away from our fantastic range of TYW and eastern Renaissance miniatures…

But,
i think that there were also a large amount of old Floundry and renegade minis.

Given a choice without having made prior purchases I would buy exclusively The Assault Group (TAG) figures. They are lovely casting, they paint up very nicely, they have loads of character, TAG picks up the postage (a substantial savings to the US) and they are quick and curteous to deal with.

I'd throw in a few Redoubts for character but my troops would be almost exclusively TAG.

Disclaimer: Synflood doesn't work for TAG or know anyone that works for TAG, he is unaffiliated with the TAG organization and personnel and has no bone to grind in this selection of troops. His opinions are entirely his own and based upon his own experience. Syn is not a TYW authority –or know it all- although he has read quite a few books on the subject. Syn is not a professional painter although he can paint reasonably well when bothered to.

Thanks for all the reactions!

a1companion,

Which models would you recommend for the Dutch army?

Will you be at Salute this year? And do you take pre-orders?

Thanks,

Rev.

I agree with Condottiere.
If i had to begin a TYW Dutch army, i would go to TAG and order their protestant germans. Actually my growing armies Spanish army of Flanders and French) are mostly made of Bicorne and Renegade. I recently ordered the beautiful TAG personalities (see pictures on their website), and i'm waiting for the Post goodwill.I hope the size are ok, as i'd love add some TAG figures specifically designed for TYW. I hope that they will add a prince de Condé, and above all a count de Fontaine in his chair as seen at Rocroi!
Bicorne sells cavalry in "Dutch coat", which could interests you.
Hope that helps.
