Just painting in the conservatory of my house in Paignton and heard the very pleasant sound of a Merlin engine. Popped outside in time to see a Spitfire in PR blue go over accompanied by a DH Vampire. The Vampire was amazingly quiet actually. |

It was airframe silver with RAF roundels on and if I remember correctly had white stripes on the inner wings. painting in Paignton: A seemingly neverending almost 'Lewis Carolesque nightmare world' of coats of magnolia emulsion interjected with 'senior management' popping her head round the door to offer helpful hints like 'you've missed a bit there ' or 'did you sand that wall' |
