I'm working on my Raiden models and doing them as ZG26 in the day-fighter scheme I know this unit used. They have white noses and to my eyes look much nicer than the more usual dark green splinter finish 110's. I'm finding it hard to get a good photographic reference as from those I have its not clear if the day fighter camo was applied as a random pattern or in the splinter scheme or both. Nor is it clear if all planes had white noses or just some. Any ideas? Any books I must get? Thanks in advance. |

Hi Timmo I have a volume called 'Zerstorer' by John J Vasco and Peter Cornwell and it details the 110 in 1940 and ZG 26 rather well. It does contain numerous pictures of their aeroplanes and it states that ZG26 used the white noses and a small white band on the rear fuselage in the latter part of the Battle of Britain. As to camo most photos of the BoB show an early 'mottled'scheme still being used very late on. |

TF Great thanks. I'll try and find the book but your description enables me to press on with the scheme I do have photographic reference for on more than one model. Thanks. |
