I was wondering if anyone else feels that LOTHS is an unfinished product. I think that it is, especially when it comes to the ship rules. I would have like to seen some rules for critical hits and the like. I guess I'll have to pen a tome of house rules. Oh, well. |

Take a look at Ben King's Fighting Sail – I think it would mesh well enough for the ship-to-ship part. Mark "Extra Crispy" Severin Owner, Scale Creep Miniatures scalecreep.com Check out the new rules directory at DeepFriedHappyMice.com |

Hmm, "Was wondering if anyone else feels that LOTHS is an unfinished product. I think that it is, especially when it comes to the ship rules." Well I would disagree & agree with you. Now I may be biased (since I worte it!) so take this for what you want. LotHS comes in at a 144 pages, and the issue while writing it was what would get dropped and what would stay. Seeing how I had to keep the core rules like LotOW for the land stuff, that took up a bit page count for the book. As for the ship stuff, I have much more planned for it if WHH decides that a second book is warrented. I kept the ship rules down to a workable set of rules which is not overly detailed, but will work. Folks can add what they want to it to make it as real as they want. So if you want more detail go ahead and add it in. So is LotHS done, yes & no. You have a basic set of ship rules that can be expanded on, but work just fine IMHO. And as i stated, if WHH deems another book to be written, than I will be fleshing out the ship rules. Tim Kulinski |

I think it really depends on what you want to emphasize. There are ship tp ship gaming rules that emphasize pure sailing, and some that emphasize gunnery. There are some that allow you to play Trafalgar in an afternoon, and some in which you can just barely get in Bonhomme Richard vs Serapis. All are fine rules, but with a different emphasis. Write, or steal, your own critical hit rules. There are plenty of other rules out there. |

I thought the rules look great! I've been waiting for these for some time now, since I have an old collection of Foundry Pirates ( link ) and I am a big fan of the original LoTR rules. They are everything I hoped for. In fact, I was a bit worried that the rules might end up being a bit too much ship to ship combat oriented, since I don't have any 28mm pirate ships. Happily – for me – they are indeed quite suitable for those like myself without any such sea going vessels. Lots of scenarios, great rules, a campaign system – I was really chuffed to get these! So, a big thank you Tim. You've done a wonderful job in my books! |

A WHW supplement with content chopped due to "lack of space"? Inconceivable! |

You can always use the ship rules from Warhammer Ahoy!, which are free to download – they have a little more detail than the ones in LoTHS. But the ones in the book are fine as starter rules. |

Let it go, Allen, let it go. What we DID get of your manuscript was magnificent. I can only hope the rest will see the light of day! |
