Just added some photos of my Mike's Models renaissance figures. They are based for Maximillian rules, but could also be used for DBR. They will be used for either my Catholic or Huguenot French:

Great paintjob. Thanks for sharing. My first renaissance figures for WRG rules were Mike's Models. Still have a few and wish I had kept the Gendarmes.

Cheers

I love Mikes Models; I have a big mess of Italian Renaissance figures and a larger mess of TYW.

It killed me when Essex stopped producing them and went to their own casts.

You can apparently still order them from Essex. I recently emailed them and they stated that they sell them on request (same price as the newer Essex packs-£1.88).

Really? I had heard that they tossed out the molds. That's great news, as I love the TYW figures marching with pike or matchlock over shoulder.

Very nice.

I am another fan of this range, I have several thousand of them painted and based which I am using for Piquet Band of Brothers. My favourite Renaissance figures ever.

Pikes are on 60 figure bases with shot and forlorn hopes around the edges.

Started out with single figure bases (Newbury Rules) then rebased to 4s for Maximillian and Armati. Then went daft and stopped bothering with individual bases altogether and rebased again with everyone in the unit onto the same base.

I thought the molds were tossed as well, but Essex stated otherwise in the email they sent me this week. The Renaissance may be the only range available (didn't ask about the others), maybe they tossed the molds from the other ranges.

Itr's my recollection that the Rennaisance figures were the best of the Mikes Models – but don't underestimate their significance when they hit the market!
