Hi just thought i would let you know that the Long awaited New Samurai Rules from Peterpig (www.peterpig.co.uk) are due out, His New Range of 15mm figures are available now.

RedRightHand08 Apr 2008 5:03 a.m. PST

Nothing about samurai for months then two come along at once.

Griefbringer08 Apr 2008 5:59 a.m. PST

I think we could also do with some more rules about excessive cross-posting…

That a real crosspost! By the way interesting news about samurai warfare. I've to check this new ruleset since I still have to find a good one.

Yes, if you think it should be posted under "General" is should not be cross-posted anywhere else….

Skeptic08 Apr 2008 7:59 a.m. PST

Which was the second recent set of samurai rules?

bilsonius08 Apr 2008 9:37 a.m. PST

The earlier thread was "Rules for Samurai" – this one is "Samurai Rules", as in "Samurai Rules OK!"
As Rolf Harris used to sing; "Samurai's up early in the morning…"

I've got Poor Bloody Infantry by PP so I'd be interested as to how good these are as I like PBI

Skeptic08 Apr 2008 3:14 p.m. PST

Ah, two threads, not two sets.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Generic sets like DBM or WHAB don't really capture the feel and at least Katana ruleset was a letdown even though when read it seemed ever so promising!

Road to Osaka is of no interest sincve AFAIK it is a skirmish game and I'd like to play with Samurai armies.

When someone gets a copy, could you post a review? Thanks.

CyberShadow09 Apr 2008 5:06 a.m. PST

I would also be interested to hear about how well this rules set represents the period. I have been looking at Killer Katanas 2 and Chrysanthemum, dont not jumped in properly yet.

also further news for SALUTE
PETER PIG will at long last have their new Samurai rules
BATTLES in the AGE of WAR which include historical battles with army lists.
If you definately want a copy i would pre-order, just in case.
