There are a number of programs available that were ostensibly created to allow online play of board or role playing games that would be equally effective for miniatures games – not as a replacement, of course, but for situations where players could not otherwise meet face-to-face – or for game and scenario development. (Programs such as Cyberboard, Vassal, and ZunTzu for example. Meanwhile, Racing Spider Games is working on an actual virtual miniatures program: Virtual Tabletop.) To that end, I've started a Yahoo Group dedicated to adapting these programs for virtual miniatures gaming. Hopefully, people will share their ideas and efforts (including artwork) to help get some virtual miniatures games off the ground. link |

By the way, a great way to try out the concept for skirmish gaming is to download ZunTzu and the Tannhauser game box (which has incredible artwork). zuntzu.com There are plenty of tokens to use with any set of man-to-man skirmish rules, like 45 Adventure or any from Two Hour Wargames. The only difference is that Tannhauser is defined with 10-sided dice. However, that can be changed just by editing a couple of lines in the xml file. Drop by the group if you have questions. |

As a friendly suggestion, you might want to consider changing your new members setting where anyone can sign in as a new member, but change you posting setting to new member moderated. IMHO that allows more new peeps to join up and see what its all about without interference, but still gives you control over the posting of new members, so as to control the spammers. :) |

That was rude of me..heh? I joined up, cause it sounded interesting. I have just had several bad experiences lately trying to join yahoo groups, and the owners never getting around to approving my membership. Didn't mean to take it out on you. |

I'm at my computer all day, so I'm very quick to respond to new members – as long as they fill in something other than "want to join" in the info box! |

By the way, I can't recommend ZunTzu enough. It is an amazing program. |
