Here is a free paper model of an Imperial Cruiser. I have started making one out of ordinary printer paper. So far this model is buildable.
I found this link today.

There's also some nice paper terrain there as well. Thanks for the link.

You all are welcome!
Paper is a challenge and cheap too.

Isn't that a copy right infringement?

Can't believe it took 7 posts.

If the resemblance requires squinting at it from 20 feet away, it probably isn't close enough to trigger any of the usual IP arguments. Coincidental coloration is not an issue, he isn't claiming that it is a specific model, he has backed off the game to the "compatible with" level (which is only actionable if you run Palladium), and the term "Imperial" is not exclusive to GW even in a space combat game context.

As for "derivative work", this model is a color change and one part rotation away from being a Space 1889 Etherflier, the architectural ethos of which predates BFG's current look by years, if not decades.

If GW wanted to bother the paper modelers, this is not the place they would start. And since they promote, at some level, the idea of scratchbuilding, their own body of publications would work against them.

Actually it is pretty much the same as a GW model as a matter of fact I would say they look very much alike. Obviously not identical but they look alike.

@GypsyComet
You should actually look at the blue prints you would realize it looks exactly like a BFG Imperial Cruiser. As far as GW not doing anything about it making it right I don't think that is a very good argument.

Mike,

Thanks for posting your paper model site and sharing! You've built some awesome models.

I have admiration for these paper modellers – I wish I could visualise as well as they can.

Nice model

I have built the model. It looks good! Though it does not look as good as a good ol metal or plastic model. I had a lot of fun with it.
