Inspired by the new 15mm GZG vehicles and the previous How much would you pay for a figure thread, I wondered, "How much would I pay for a 6mm/15mm/25mm vehicle?" My answer later
it's supper/dinner time here. What would you pay? Gracias, Glenn |

I know naval vehicles/ships don't come in those sizes usually
but since I only have 1:6K ships I did not want to have a long list of scales/sizes. All naval scales included in the question, please. Gracias, Glenn off to fix dinner for wife and kid

Not sure about the vehicles, but I'd pay £30.00 GBP for a good dinner. What's on the menu? :-) |

Assuming something the size of a large APC type of vehicle 6mm – $2 USD 15mm – $18 USD to 20 25MM – $40 USD I think ( just starting to get into 25mm) This is for metal model or metal/resin model The intangible is the "coolness" of the model. There is a stuff that does not warrant those max prices because they just are not cool enough for the price. |

Like figures to an extend, I think of my vehicle purchases in "army" scale. Meaning- for every unit of figures I buy, I want to at least buy one or more vehicles to support that unit. For 28mm, I tend to want to purchase by the platoon- 2-4 APCs, 3-4 AFVs, maybe 1 or 2 tanks. Between 6-10 vehicles. ((Example- my PigIron Army has 2 Ironshields and 3 Ironstorms
I'm still looking for a pair of decent tanks to go with them. My Tau, however, have 4 Devilfish and 2 Hammerheads.)) For 1/144th or 15mm, I buy by platoon- 3-4 platoons of Mechanized Infantry, 1-2 platoons of AFV support, 1-2 platoons of tanks. ((Example- my CAV army which has 2 platoons of Despot tanks, 1 platoon of Malefactor tanks, 1 flight of Kharl VTOLs and a platoon of CAVs. 12 tanks, 4 planes and 4 Mecha.)) For 6mm, I buy company- a company of tanks supported by several platoons of Mechanized Infantry. ((Example- I have a near future American army that features 2 companies of M1 Abrams, a company of M2 Bradleys and about 2 platoons of fleet scale Heavy Gears for Mecha.)) So, when I consider that, I also have to consider how much that's all going to cost me and what projects I have on the hopper that demand immediate attention. My expectations are: 28mm- I would gladdly pay Old Crow/Pig Iron prices for teh quality. 1/144th, 10mm, 15mm- I know Reaper quality and price when it comes to CAV. Heavy Gear is pricy for their vehicles, so, I look elsewhere. Most of the 15mm offerings have been lackluster with regard to quality ((model quality is just lacking here- poor casting and lack of detail particularly)) and my ability to shop ((poor quality or non-existant pictures))
That's changing though with Combat Wombat and GZGs new offerings! I will gladdly pay what GZG charges for those Phalanx/Paladin models! 6mm- Hands down GHQ
I won't shop anywhere else for my 6mm fare. The value with regard to quality and price is perfect in my book! Hope that helps! |

I meant: 28mm, I tend to buy by the unit. heh. |

GHQ recently raised their price to about $2 USD per model. I own 1000+ GHQ models and drew the line there and gave bought nothing from them since. If I were to buy more, it would be off eBay where my limit did hover around $5 USD per blister which is $1 USD per vehicle. I don't buy 15mm. Everyone else has this already so I play their stuff. I do have quite a few 25mm vehicles and can usually get them for $20 USD or less through store sales, eBay, etc. I won't pay more than that even though I'm dying for some AGN stuff. If they ever have a good sale, I'll be all over it. |

As I play WW2/Modern in 20mm-1/72, these are the prices I am happy with paying for good quality stuff; $10-$20 for prepainted 1/72 diecasts by Dragon/FoV $5-$15 for 1/72-1/76 scale plastic kit $5-$30 for resin kit Amalric |

Since I have the ability to make my own stuff, I tend to shy away from expensive stuff in the market place. 6mm – $1.45 USD 15mm – $8.00 USD 28mm – $15.00 USD |

I'm with Irishserb. the threshold is how much for a standard table unit. I might go as high as $10 USD per model for 15mm, but that would only be for something I only need 5 of. |

Most of my current stuff consis of a few 25/28mm Ebay buys and multiple Company strength units (7 IIRC) from Brigade Models and GZG for Sci-Fi. Looking for a few modern platoons for "targets" for aircraft (basically 1/300th scale +/-) and some 15 mm for Sci-Fi. For 6mm I don't hesitate to buy the Brigade Model and GZG stuff at about $2-3 (pack amount varies) each. I think I would stop above $5 USD per vehicle. For crossover I suspect (used as 6mm Bolos also) 15mm Mobile Autonomous Weapons Platforms at circa $5 USD would be okay. The Phalanx 6-wheel hi-mobility Heavy APC/AFV at circa $16-17 is a going to limit the mechanization of my 15 mm force but it does fit what I envision an APC/AFV to be pretty well. The Light Utility G-Sled with weapon mount and crew at half that pricemay be my first mechanized buys
along with the the $9-15 earlier vehicles. Oddly enough that is not too far off my 25 mm price maximum below. For 25mm the Hover Jeeps from GZG are interesting support pieces at $10 USD as are the drones at $6. USD The Wombat Medium Hover-APC at $14 USD is reasonable. The Tactical Interface Transport is costly but maybe someday. The older $12 USD vehicles are very good too. Say a maximum of $15-20 for this scale per vehicle. That may be unrealistic but it's my thoughts currently given the low priority 25mm has in my gaming. If it was a higher priority I suspect I would slowly build up my armor at up to $30 USD per vehicle. Gracias, Glenn |

I have been "trained" by BF/FOW to pay about $9(us) each for 15mm armored vehicles. I don't go absolutely hog wild at that price, and will go higher for certain items. For 28mm, I can go pretty high (I bought two Baneblades from GW, for example) for the right centerpiece vehicle, but generally keep "standard" vehicles in the $20-$30(us) range, and try to bring them in for less. Like some of the others here, I like to have an APC for each squad and field tanks by platoon – so can't really afford to pay premium prices for these standard vehicles. |

My own preference is - 6mm – £1.00 GBP or $2.00usd 15mm – £3.00 GBP or $6.00usd 25mm – £12.00 GBP or $24.00usd which would undercut the local prices by about 55%. But then, I can be very tight-fisted, and if I bought local , I would not be able to play anything but FoW or Infinity or Inquisitor. |

I'm a modeller who wargames with his military models. I don't mind paying up to $50.00, very occasionally for a good quality hard to find subject 1:72 vehicle kit – there's a Czech kit of an Italian WWII armoured car I'm looking at that is around this price. Normally, I'd less than $15 USD to $18 USD with less than $10 USD a really good price. |
