All of the rules sets are brand new, so you may have to wait awhile for folks to play them and then have comments. |

If you are into small unit skirmish games with an RPG-lite feel, .45 Adventures and The Amazing War Stories supplement will fit the bill. Includes rocketmen, zombies, russian peasant ghouls, and super soldiers. Don't remember if it covered werewolves and vampires. You can vary the amount of weirdness in the games too from straight commando raids to battling the Nazi undead. |

I'm just starting myself
I've not pick a rule set just yet, but I'm leaning towards battlegroundweirdwarii.com and his recommended rule set. I'm going to be test gaming this weekend. redoing the Hellboy movie opener

I've enjoyed AE-WWII the few times I've played it. Quick, easy and lots of fun. I've not tried any of the other rules, so I can't give a comparison. |

Yea. I am more into skirmish-type fights, maybe a few vehicles in the mix
. I have heard of .45 Adventure/Amazing War Stories, as well as Battleground Weird War II, and AE-WW2, but know nothing about them. I have also heard of a home-brew version of Disposable Heroes is floating around also. And that there is West Winds' Secrets of the Reich
. Any others out there? |

For the Pulp WWII games that I run at conventions, I tend to use some home-grown rules I wrote. Since they're for more normal stuff, I've had to think outside the box several times to convey the weirder things. So if you've got a favorite set of rules, and you're willing to play around with it, then go ahead! |

I might have to take a crack at playing this genre
it seems really neat. Plus I have a lot of miniatures that would work well with the game (from all my really weird pulp gaming). I'd have to get some armor tho. LOVED KING KONG VS. the GERMANS PICS!!! Anyone know where that Kong came from? |

I believe that was one of the toys that came out after the movie was in theaters. |

Wow, how did I miss this tread? I got the Kong for $5 USD in a clearance sale at the local comic book shop. I passed it up at first but when I saw the package had some people fleeing from the toy and I compared it to the mini I keep on my fey chain for just such reasons, I had to have it. Battleground Weird War II is just mods off the excellent Battleground WWII system by EEE. All the weird war rules are free and the only thing you need to play is the core BGWWII rules set and the Tankers Challenge set if you want to do vehicles. You can get them at the links below. The rules are so sound and playable that you can actually do anything you want on the tabletop. The rules also allow for limited RP so you can really get in a good story behind your weirdness. Another great side to it is that you also have one of the best WWII historical skirmish games out so give it a try. So steel your troops mettle because the dead don't rest and they always come back, hungry!
