I was browsing through the 1.300 aircraft listings on the Navwar site and was pleased to see lots of nice models that I'd like to add to my collection, especially those not available elsewhere. Are the H+R / Navwar models any good? Would they fit in with the Raiden and Leading Edge planes that I've already got or would they look out of place? Thanks |

The ones I have are nice crisp castings, but there are some issues such as one wing being slightly longer than the other on one type and panel detail being somewhat crudely scratched in (especially on the undersides). I don't have the other ranges so can't compare. They're perfectly good enough for my purposes but I'm not particularly fussy. |

Boggler, have a look at the Model Database at Fort Wargame: link Simon White's site has lots of good pictures of what is on offer from a number of manufacturers. Cheers, SteelonSand. |

I have many of the 1/300 aircraft and will be buying more at Cold Wars in a week or so from The Last Square. Some are really good castings, bi-planes are very well done. Others, are OK. Another source for good 1/300 aircraft is from Scotia. You can get them in the States from I-94 Enterprises. link |

To answer your actual question, proably not. Raiden & Leading Edge are both working in 1/285. Navwar are 1/300. It doesn't sound a lot till you put the planes side by side. I have examples of both (109s, I16s, SBs) side by side you can see a) that Raiden/ Leading Edge are bigger b) that Raiden have clearer detail than either Leading Edge or Navwar. If I had my time again then I'd be painting Raiden till I die, as it is I have a pile of Navwar that I'm slowly working my way through. |

I've had Scotia and after buying a single Raiden 109E I switched over to them. Not seen Leading Edge but Raiden are superb models and much better than Scotia IMHO, bit bigger but they do look so good and appear to be more accurate models. The Scotia Hurricanes were thin, the 109E weird looking at the front and the Spitfires had huge panel lines cut into in the wings. 1/300 and 1/285 do not mix IMHO. |

Most of my planes are Navwar and I really like them. But the only reason I will continue to buy them is that I also use their armor and 1/3000 ships. They have a lot of stuff no one makes for sure.I believe Raiden to be the future for WW2 gaming in this scale. For ultra modern,we may have to hope Navwar start to release more as I don t think Mark has plans for that era. There is still a lot of planes we need, would be great to see Scotia/Navwar get back in the game. David PS Bought 15 each of Raidens Wyvern,Firebrand and MB5 and they are excellent! |

Hi B., I like H&R / Navwar 6mm aircraft. Some sculpts are better than others, but they all paint up well. Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. 6mm-minis.blogspot.com |
