I have a model of the Millenium Falcon from Star Wars that my sons and I want to build for some Star Wars gaming, unfortunately, the instructions do not include painting instructions. Can anyone please help us with the paint scheme…grey doesn't look right, white is too bright, etc. Is there some paints out there that can be used or does anyone have any step-by-step instructions they could share with us. My boys are 11 and 13 and they have been building various terrain pieces for the last two years, so they do have some good starting talent. They know dry-brushing techniques and are familiar with painting large terrain objects. Any help, links, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to any who reply!!
Regards,
Hitman

I believe the Falcon started off white and just "got dirty"

The Falcon is definitely not just a white that got dirty.

Here is a link to very good high quality picturesof the actual filming model taken from numerous angles:

I'd say the Falcon is a dirty off-white sort of very light grey color. Dry brushed with a lot of weathering and patches of rust colors.

Pic – dirty white colour I'd say – perhaps a creamy off white colour, the lots of dirt

I sprayed mine with grey primer. painted lots of rust then drybrushed the whole thing with white, a bit of pastel chalk weathering and rust and it came out looking ok.

Toaster;
Do you have any pictures? What did you use for rust?

To the rest of you fine, upstanding folks….thanks for your replies and comments!!

I used "Gull Grey" to good effect.

If you can find it Ral PArtha had a color called "Cold White" that was a perfect match for the Falcon. It was sort of a 1/2 step between White and light Grey
