The small plastic models ships look much better. I'm glad I have a bunch of them. |

I've been eyeing some of the Yamato ships as human high-tech subs for my Alien Subwar project

"1/35 scale" Oh, argh. Some of those SF3D vehicles
they'll work great with 28mm. I've already got a squad of SAFS and Melusines in 1/35, waiting

BWP, wow thanks for this link! HLJ is one of my favorite websites since some of my local geek stores closed. |

Waco, the problem this old STARGUARD! fan has with the classic SF3D line is the massive scale. I *was* able to make use of the Nutrocker as a very large hover tank, but unfortunately that was about it. God help me though if they ever release the SF3D suits in 1/56 scale, though

"The small plastic models ships look much better. I'm glad I have a bunch of them." As do I. Apples and oranges IMHO. The differences in scale make the plastic kits excellent for several genres depending upon the scale, such as the fighters make beautiful ground attack aerospace fighters for Dirtside II, while the shuttle is a great -er, shuttle or landing boat for marines.
I've found that the new Gashopon save a great deal of time on assembly, and as they're pre-painted, and *available* (the plastic kits are long out of production – with no re-release in sight). The fact that they now include sets of *fighters* that are spot-on for Silent Death: The Next Millennium, is a huge bonus from where I am sitting, especially if Zakka Pap decides to release a dedicated Gamiras/Gamelon fighter group! Then I can get down and dirty serious and render a set of Space Cruiser Yamato dogfighting variant rules for SD:TNM ala the classic Star Wars conversions
imagine the fun of Black Tigers tangling with Gamiras or Comet Empire craft using the fast and deadly SD:TNM mechanics? Fingers and toes crossed real tight

The "Hellhound" ( hlj.com/product/KBYKP-46 ) caught my fancy
until I saw the scale ( 1/72 ) . I was hoping that I finally found a decent gunship for my Starship Troopers
but I think that 1/72 would be too small. |

Sure, the Hellhound is 1/72, and so is the Jigabachi AV ( hlj.com/product/KBYKP-27 ) , but as there's no human figs in the second one

Oh the Hellhound, I remember that from Patlabor 2. Tore up the police labors pretty badly. |

I was looking at the Hellhound too, good gunship and adaptable as troop transport, pity about the scale, unless its huge. |

BTW, did anyone check out the 1/144 scale "Mobile Staff"
Excellent 10mm crew figures, not to mention easy as heck to convert to pretty much all else. |
