I know that the A&A models are approximately 1/1800 scale. What would be your opinion on using them in playing the WWII air combat game: Red Sun/Blue Sky? Regards, Chris J. |

The airplanes minis from A&A are about 1:900 scale. Mounted on a clear acrilic base 3 planes touching wings to a base. Larger planes (Catalina, Betty and Kondor bombers) are mounted one plane t a base. Paint jobs are just "good". Sculpt is somewhat better but still just "nice". The planes you can find in this set are: American: Wildcat; (Dive Bomber);(Torpedo Bomber); Catalina Japanese: Zero (Zeke); Val; Kate: Betty Bomber. UK: Supermarine Spifire; Sworfish Germany: Stuka; kondor Bomber. I personally think they are too small for anything but a quite abstracted Air to Air combat. And also, they are not so cheap as one might think because in the secondary market prices go up as many A&A War at Sea players want/need multiple air units. Hope this helps. |

Oops. My intent got lost in the cross post! I'm looking at the naval ships as bombing targets and wondering whether the A&A ships would be a suitable size. I plan to use 1/285 or 1/300 scale aircraft. Sorry about that! Chris J. |

That should work just fine. And ships (the common ones) are quite cheap. |
