Hi,

I want to have some blank ship templates upon which I can draw camouflage schemes for my painters to follow. The templates would have a side and top view so that the camouflage scheme could be completely specified.

I've asked someone else to get started for me but then I thought that someone on TMP might already know of a resource.

Anyone have any ideas?

My first idea was to plop a model onto a scanner and use the image in making the template

Cheers,

Neil

You could photocopy the relevant drawings from Janes

Very cool site! Is there something similar for ironclads?

How old of an Ironclad? Which era? The Ironclad Yahoo group link has color scheme side views for many US Union monitors. However, the form and colors of many CW ironclads (allot of the Rebel boats) are only speculation.

It isn't my area of knowledge, but I know line drawings of the later ironclads are available. Check on the board for the period(s) in question.

Thank astronomican.

Yeah astronomican, that's an absolutely outstanding site. Thanks for posting that. Are there any other sites out there that have plan view drawings? I've got all three Conway's books, so I've got all of the profile views I need. Plan views seem to be harder to come by. Thanks again.
