Bought : 114 items (11 kits of various scales, 44 second hand GW items, the rest 20mm and 28mm miniatures) Painted: 11 items ( 2 1/600, 1 1/300, 6 20mm figs and 2 generic figs) Sold/traded: 2 items ( 1 1/43 Diecast cars) Must do better next month, and still 489 short of my "paint 500 things this year" goal. Purchased nothing but paint. Finished a conversion of a GW lizardman figure that was given to me with no arms, and missing one foot. Also converted one of Black Orc's War Sisters into an archer, for my husband. Wouldn't really call it a conversion, but I had to do a lot of work on RAFM's 'Burt Jackson' figure to get it to look right. I got one other figure primed this month, it's generally been too cold to spray anything. Painted: 1 Reaper fairy 1 " vampire hunter 1 " slithe (fishman) 1 Ral Partha Shadowrun biker Team Frog's "Bambi & Thumper" vampire hunters a pair of spikes with heads 1 monster familiar for some Privateer Press figure I can't remember 1 Mega-minis cat All in all a good month. |

I've been doing alot of SYW basing lately. Based up about 1200 15mm SYW Austrians and Prussians infantry that I bought painted a couple years ago as well as rebased another 800 or so other SYW I bought recently. Painted up about 40 guns and crews to go with them as well. And made about 150 magnetic movement trays for the Battalions. Also based up about 200 15mm ACW to fill out my Gettysburg order of battle for Fire & Fury. I bought several 1/700 Japanese Ship models for targets for 1/300 Warbirds in Miniature gaming. |

Failed miserably
My goal isn't the lead balance but finishing projects. My Foreign Legation compound is still in pieces. Really, Really need to finish it before Cold Wars so I can shop with a clear conscience ! |

January 08 Purchased 18 Gripping Beast Britons Painted 20 6mm ECW cavalry 12 15mm Timurid Cavalry 1 Copplestone Wizard So by my math (cav = 2, 15mm = 1/2 28mm, 6mm = 1/10 28mm) that puts me -3 for the year (but there is a huge pile ready for spraying on mydesk right now). February should be good but March is Cold Wars

I have painted little, working too much, but have bought nothing. In fact I did buy a set of Kiss Me Hardy so now I am motivated to finish my Napoleonic naval. |

This year I think I will again go for a paint-3-for-every-2-purchased ratio (failed last year). I am off to a decent start, at least: Painted: 2 Reaper civilians 4 Reaper adventurer types 4 Gripping Beast children 1 Black Scorpion pirate 20 GW plastic skeletons 3 GW LotR Rangers of the North 6 GW Haradrim 1 Imperial guard bunker 4 two IG APCs (approx. 4 figures in time committed) Purchased:
2 GW Catachan Officers 1 Reaper Ithamar, Pale Reaver 1 Reaper Barbabas Ironbrace (dwarf cleric) 1 Reaper Rogan, ½ Orc Thief Total Painted, Jan: 45
Total Purchased, Jan: 5 All figures are 28mm.
Feb. may be rough: I like a lot of the GW LotR figures coming our early in the month, and ditto for some of the undead coming out late in the month. |

Completed 49 kryomek helions and 2 modern figures, but just purchased ~24 Blue Moon aliens and spacers and the THW Hishen slaver set (think there are 6 figures in the set). I've partially completed 6 additional moderns, primed 5 tong gangsters, and assembled 20 warzone infantry. I'm pleased, another month like January and I think I'll exceed my total 2007 output, but cold wars is approaching fast. |

I'm doing OK
Bought: 10 (28mm USMC from Black Scorpion). Painted: The 10 above (just need to finish the bases and dulcote them) I have 32 Starship Troopers (CAP) figs 90% done. Built: 2 building kits from "Plasticville". 3 heavy weapons for SST 8 x Cougars and 3 * Grizzlies for SST ~75% done. All in all not a bad month. I painted everything I bought AND made a little headway into the "nekid lead" pile. Thankfully it's Leap Year, so I get an extra day in February (and before Cold Wars)!. - Jim |

Barks!: "-ve 30 for the year, but not too bad considering I went to a gaming convention- oh, the temptation…" That is impressive restraint! |

Well, as usual, I'm off to a wonderfully underwhelming start. Bought (78) -1 GW Man O'War (Skaven) used -1 GW Dark Elf (Witch Std Bearer) -2 GW Daemonettes -2 GW Mounted Daemonettes -2 GW Gnoblar Trappers -9 JR 1/300 Small Bldgs -1 Reaper Dark Elf -1 Reaper Dire Bear -19 Warmachine (1 Menoth, 4 Khador, 14 Privateers, 2 Merc Solos) -9 Confrontation Scorpion Clones -2 Confrontation Scorpion Crimsons -1 Confrontation Scorpion Character -1 Reaper Female Dwarf Barbarian -1 IK Cleric of Morrow -7 Dark Age Dragyri (2 Soul Searchers, 5 slingers) -1 Dark Age Forsaken (Huntress) -1 Skaven Packmaster -1 Skaven Screaming Bell (for sale) -6 GW Giant Rats -1 Reaper Battle Golem ("not-Warforged") -1 FOW British tank (Honey Stuart) -5 Foundry Orc/Snots -1 Reaper female Paladin Primered (35) Painting Progress (21) Finished (17) -1 GW Man O'War (Skaven) -1 Warmachine Cygnar (Sentinel Lt. Warjack) -15 Warmachine Khador (Marauder Hvy Warjack, 11 Winterguard, 2 Winterguard Mortar, Sorcha) 78 bought/31 days = 2.5 minis per day. TOO HIGH. 17 painted/78 bought = 21.8% of growth painted. TOO LOW. Compared to last January, I bought more but also painted more. I also hope to get a good jump on February on the very first night. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I have a convention to go to in February. I'm hoping to sell off a chunk and not replace it, hopefully bringing my numbers in line. As can be seen, the Warmachine project progressed nicely in January. The two factions in the lead stand at 70% and 60% of point goals, with the third and fourth at about 50% and 36%. The WFB project and Terrain project goals also had some progress, though they are hidden in the "painting progress" numbers. |

You did get a fair amount painted, GC. But cons are dangerous
|
Zagloba | 01 Feb 2008 8:27 a.m. PST |
Painted: 48 10mm Romans Bought: none, but placed an order that should arrive in Feb. I haven't decided what my pledge will be this year- I did pretty well painting last year, but fell behind on terrain, basing, and buildings. I also have a lot of painting projects that are about half done, so I'll probably focus more on projects than bulk painting per se. Rich |

Im going to join The Pledge again this year – Nice simple target of painting more than I purchase. Due to being sniped on about half a dozen auctions during January, I only bought a bag of old citadel plastic sheilds (They're like golddust!). I managed to paint 10 wood elf cavalry from the 80's. Under my Pledge therefore I end January with +20! |

shaun-paintersblog.blogspot.com For brush by brush action, plus all the pictures. January total is 290 28mm figures painted and 400 odd Romans rebased and repainted to some degree for which i awarded myself 100 points. so 390 for January Cheers Shaun |

Sigh
another goal I will fail to meet. But I'll try!!! January: purchased nothing | based 250 minis from a largish British/Spanish 15mm Napoleonic army I bought last year. The question: Will Cold Wars destroy my hopes for the year???? The pile? About 400 15mm Nappys. 150 28mm Medieval. 400 15mm WW2. 150 40mm Nappys. 100 40mm Vikings. and hundreds more 28mm Foundry Pirates & Darkest Africa minis
oh, and some old GW stuff too
Do we count unpainted buildiings? Unfinished terrain projects? |
TheWarStoreSweetie | 03 Feb 2008 2:23 p.m. PST |
I will never die with the amount of unpainted lead I have! I will list it by lines and armies for now and if I ever get a handle on it -- SIGH!!! I have the following entire armies to paint: Privateer Press: Circle Trolls Cygnar Merc Pirates FOW: 1500 pt US Army Other Misc Figures by Manufactuter: 2 Reaper Sophies 10 Black Scorpion Pirates 3 blisters of Eureka Teddy Pirates 5 Blisters of Brigade game pirates 12 blisters of various Conquest Mini's figures 1 Harem girl set from Eureka 1 Ice Witch from Wargods 1 Starter pack from Wargods Most of this stuff is primed -- I just can't seem to find the time to sit down and finish it!!! I have about 30 buildings and terrian pieces to to as well. |

This year Painted About 20 WFB Wolf riders – the trouble is they're not mine – they're for a club demo game in May, so no help on the lead mountain A dozen or so 28mm Gauls/Celts (but the WAB army is enormous, so hardly started) 3 WFB "Spirit hosts" – 3 random old figs each on a 40mm base and painted ghostly. A small woodland, and a "rocky ground" area about half done. Bought – I finally weakened last friday and bought a box of WFB dwarf handgunners/crossbowmen on offer – I think it was the shock of seeing price reductions on GW models. (So, to end January – bought 18, painted 35, but because of painting other people's stuff the "lead pile" went up by 3) This year I'm going to finish the Gauls/Celts and try to use some homemade figs in a cheapie Goth/Frank army for WAB. The scuplts are proceeding at a snails pace, but OK (by my rather low standards). |
