A couple of links to Lego weirdness.

Well, this is official Lego, so I'm not sure how weird it is, but they are doing Speed Racer in Legos – timed to come out with the movie (somehow, I can't see Lego coming out with a Matrix set):

Racer X has the Knight Rider truck, now?

Alien Surfer will want this – it has the Mach 5 (NASCAR) in amongst the F-1 racers

Someone re-envisioned the Naboo Starfighter as a VSF craft:

Instead of a navigator droid, you get a monkey.

That makes sense.

Okay, I really want a Mach 5.

Charles Marlow22 Jan 2008 9:48 p.m. PST

I like the VSF craft and Mach 5.

The third one is still from the Speed Racer movie, not NASCAR (per-se).

That victorian era naboo fighter is really amazing!

I've seen other steam lego star wars.. The Tie Fighter was good.

Looking at it, the design could also be a credible DieselPunk/Pulp design, if you lost the steam plume and maybe the monkey.

Yes, one of the Lego forums is doing a steam-punk Star Wars contest, so there's a few interesting builds knocking around the 'net at the moment.

if you "up" from the speed racer pic, you will see a disturbing development with the "agents" set. The first non "historical" (e.g. pirates, cowboy) or Licensed theme (batman, Indiana Jones, starwars) to have modern looking guns included. I know this has probably been coming for a while, but I still find it very dissapoiniting for a company that reisisted "war toys" for so long.

"Proper Use of the LEGO Trademark on a Web Site
If the LEGO trademark is used at all, it should always be used as an adjective, not as a noun. For example, say "MODELS BUILT OF LEGO BRICKS". Never say "MODELS BUILT OF LEGOs".Also, the trademark should appear in the same typeface as the surrounding text and should not be isolated or set apart from the surrounding text. In other words, the trademarks should not be emphasized or highlighted. Finally, the LEGO trademark should always appear with a ® symbol each time it is used."

You wouldn't want Bill to get sued, would you?
