After a long wait, Fleet Action Imminent has arrived and is available for sale at odgw.com. This much-anticipated WWI version of the General Quarters rules system has introductory pricing of $27.95 USD loose leaf and $32.95 USD Perfect bound.

Get ready to set sail in the dreadnought and zeppelin era!

Ordered it :) Just waiting for my online access to come through so I can download the PDF :)

Having had General Quarters II for many years, I didn't know that I was supposed to be muchly-awaiting this.

Can you tell us what are the improvements over GQII, and… well, I'm sure it'll just make me sick if I check the price on my copy…

David, you praised GQ in the TMP Rules Directory years ago, and I trust your judhement on things naval. What's the deal?

Thanks,

Allen

And yes, I do know that my own copies of GQ and GQII are old enough to drink, gamble, and vote.

And yes, I've been completely oblivious to all the discussions since they were first released. I never saw a need to fix what wasn't broke, as they always played just fine.

So I'm honestly curious…

Well I've just got the PDF so I'm off to give it a good read for the rest of the evening :)

I look forward to a review then, either here or on your own GQ pages!

Thanks,

Allen

Maybe the print will be large enough to read with these tired old eyes. Old GQ is a great game but we were having to Xerox up every page to read 'em.

I'm getting errors all the way through the checkout process saying I don't have permissions ?! Also I can't update my account information from the checkout process, but I can if I go out and do it?

I made it all the way to the last page and then just got only an error, no idea what happened.

Bostich,

Shoot an email to ODGW; they're real good about resolving such problems.

Got an email from CinC, working it out now.

"Can you tell us what are the improvements over GQII…"

Nine days later…

All I hear are the calls of sea birds…

I'm still in the GQ1 era. They are still available from NavWar in the UK.

It's not that I'm against a new edition but it looks expensive and I wonder if it is that much of an improvement.

Nothing wrong with GQ1/2. Still produces a good game. GQ3/FAI is just a different animal. More detailed game but keeps the same ease of play.
