i put in an order on 12th December and have yet to receive it. Managed to contact them before Xmas and was told most of their staff were in America and some pieces were waiting to be cast. Have tried contacting them by phone & e-mail since Xmas but have yet to get any more contact – can any one tell me if there is anything wrong with Black Tree?
Cheers
Adam

I'm in the same boat, check out my thread which was moved to the consumer affairs page. Having said that, havent seen any definate answers on whats going on.

Ref: UK office, I placed an online order on 14/12. I sent them an email last week (no reply) and phoned them today, but got the automatic message that the telephone number is not recognised.

It looks like I will be calling my credit card company & asking for my money back. All I can say, is it is very disappointing, and the only time that I have had such poor service.

This sounds mysterious. It could be a job Inspector Combat…

Looking at their website it seems they're having a sale and trying to set up a US operation. I suspect they've just taken too much on and are slipping behind. Although bigger than some, I doubt Black Tree is a corporate behemoth so I think we can cut them a little slack. Having said that, it's not my lead that hasn't turned up!

Would you like me to give them a call?

Would you like me to give them a call?

I also placed an order in early Dec and have received nothing. Waiting patiently, though.

I am very surprised that no one has come on here and addressed this thread. Hm… More clues…

GeoffQRF16 Jan 2008 2:24 p.m. PST

Do they normally come on here and address threads?

First let me offer my apologies to anyone that has been waiting for orders. We had some major problems in December and early January but we are all frantically working to catch up on the backlog.

Please bear with us a little longer on the telephone front as we are all in the warehouse doing orders :(

If you would like to email me with your problem I will make sure that it is sorted out ASAP. You can contact me at btdsales@black-tree-design.com

I ordered from Black Tree at the new US source in December and got my order just fine. It took about a week. (this is for the assurances of my fellow State-siders, as this is little comfort to the UK crowd)

Inspector Combat has solved another case…. guinness

Yippee, just got home from work & found my Black Tree order waiting for me (order placed 14/12/2007), what a relief. Now then, how much can I get painted up by the 10th February.

Buck21505 Mar 2008 3:11 p.m. PST

Late January I ordered some Imperial Romans and Ancient Germans. After three weeks and an explanation from Vaughan at BTD they had a computer crash and were trying to get caught up, the figs finally arrived from their Amarillo, Texas site (I live in the Seattle, Washington area). Unfortunately, I was shorted 3 each shields that were supposed to be with the Romans and shorted 7 shields for the Germans. I have sent over half-a-dozen e-mails to both the U.S. and U.K. addresses to let them know of the shorted order, but have not received an acknowledgement, let alone the missing shields. I will continue bombarding them until I get an answer. I never had a problem ordering their WWII figures, but when I want to delve into ancients, everything falls apart…

Green Gang14 Mar 2008 6:37 a.m. PST

Is anyone else still having problems with Black Tree? I placed an order for paints on 13th February. They took the money on 19th February, but the order still says 'Queued' on their system (but I don't know if that changes). I haven't received a response from them from at least 3 emails. Anybody know hat's going on?

Maybe I'm just impatient, but companies normally only take the money when they're ready to send.

Mutineer27 Mar 2008 5:55 a.m. PST

Buck 215 In WW2 they had very pretty good logistics compared to Boudica and the ancient brits LOL seriously I have been messed about the same by BTD I'm still waiting for my romans to arrive no answers e-mails and now their website is down not good they do great figures as well I hope they don't go down the pan.

DanWW208 May 2008 3:56 p.m. PST

I had a long wait to complete an order but John at BTD did eventually sort it. It does slightly put me off ordering as the problem then gets passed on if I'm painting something for a paying customer, but they are great figures and (I hope) the problems may be due to the new website launch and the expansion into the US.

BTD are one of those firms who you really want to do well as they have the product the customer wants, and just need to make sure it's well advertised and backed up with the service.

I take exception to e-mails phone calls being ignored by this company and there endless list of (everchanging) excuses so have started to process to have them looked into by trading standards under the distance selling regulations which I am told they would appear to be in breach off
which is a pity as I really like there product but no good to me if there sitting with my money and my figures and im sitting with neither.

see my post in other section re resolution of btd delivery problems it appears to work
