As a replacement of the standard kroot head. Sorry I should have said that this is kind of a spin off post from the earlier one about kroot. |

I think that the Lizardmen Saurus heads (both) are the winners for me! It would create an instant SF/VSF reptilian. CC |

While playing around with them I have to say my favorite was the chaos horned helmet head. I could see clipping the horns and making some sort of hightech helmet |

I thought the Orc with the pony tail was the one. Great fun combination. |

actually
that is an EXTREMELY helpful set of reference images! I think it would be a great idea if others into 'kroot mods' as a showcase for 'head swaps' could do the same thing just to show others some of the 'variety/options' with the least amount of expense/effort for VSF/SF 'conversions' same basic 'krootish' body, just showing what 'heads/mods' would work
then maybe some kroot body mods (like with nid etc arms??? from same basic parts??? I took some 'nid clawed finger arms' and replaced the kroot head with a TENDRIL feeder head and pulled a set of 'batwings' from spare 'Fury' heroclix and made an 'Avatar of Cthullu-ish' figure in under an hour
(now I just have to get a decent digital camera to post this stuff to Displaced Minis
*sigh) *slish

Meh. GW orcs and orks tend to look like GW orcs and orks, to me. The lizardman parts, though, made for a cool conversion! |

I thought the beastman head worked really well also |

The one orc head I thought would look really good with sculpted muttonchops into a ape like head. I do agree that it's hard to make that much of a change but I did do a nice converted ogre that used a GW orc head and a Mageknight body and it came out quite nice, and clearly not orc like. You would also be surprise what a flesh color does as everyone sees green and thinks orks. I wish I had a gor head to try out on the body but I only had the ungor. I was also looking for my tendril head but could not find it otherwise I would have used that one. DWW, I'd be willing to take some better pics to add to a collection if people are intersted. While I only have the one kroot torso, someone else would have to do the arms test. |

I decided to try one replacement from scratch: link TMP link I always felt that the Kroot heads were too small for their bodies, but is this too big? CC |

You chopped off too much neck I think on most of those. They would all look really good with about 3/128th" to 1/64th" of neck added to them
Maybe as much as 1/32" in some cases |

CC, I'll say it again, you are a damn fine sculptor. How are those Morlocks doing? Ralph |

Thanks Ralph, I'm still learning though. :) "How are those Morlocks doing?" Right now they are sitting comfy in a bin back home, waiting for me to get back to finish them up. I will definitely have some photos of the final conversions soon. CC |
