Great!!

Many of us have been expecting for a long time this project finally going to printer: Spain in Flames (SiF), a variation of Flames of War adapted for Spanish Civil War gaming.

It's a pity that, as far as I know, Battlefront NZ wouldn't get directly involved in this development, for it would have given immediate chances to international aficionados to get a taste on it.

We must be immensely grateful to 'Wargames, soldados y estrategia' magazine instead for their involvement in accepting commercial risks and publishing it for its primary market: Spain. However, I guess we'll have to accept as a premise for WSE magazine that, prior to venturing into publishing an English translation of 'Spain in Flames' (and I hope the finally will take the decision) they will be awaiting for the degree of success of their Spanish version.

Anyway, I guess that every Spanish Civil War gamer would have a chance to take a look or get his own copy on this FoW variant, even if only this Spanish version -at least, for collecting and documentation purposes!

Opsss… please read "I hope they finally will take" instead of "I hope the finally will take"

There is an english version too.
135 pages, with orbats to adapt flames of war system game to the spanish civil war (mehal. la, legionarios, milicianos, anarquists or comunists, falangistas, guardias civiles, carlists, Navarra brigades etc…), military history of the conflict (with several great and fabolous maps), two warriors, history from the international brigades, african army, several divisions (national and republican, scenaries, missions…
A lot of information for FOW or another system game.

ghostdog15 Dec 2007 4:35 p.m. PST

is there any information about ORBATS to the company, platoon and squad level?

I donīt game FOW, but I would like to get that info for IABSM and Troops tactics and weapons.

BTW, un saludo desde la coruņa (greetings from la coruņa)

soldadoinvierno15 Dec 2007 5:14 p.m. PST

Yes. Itīs similar to the fow orbats, with company, platoons and squads (or teams, it depends of the unit).
For example, Spanish foreing legion company, with Hq company with command team and 2iC command team, 3 rifle platoons and 1 "weapons" platoon.
Every rifle platoon with several rifle teams and the weapons platoon with light mortar team (Valero or Brixia) and LMG, and so on.

Our Summer Special from 2004 – still available for just £5.00 GBP – has the Up Your Cara Al Sol supplement in it for IABSM in the Spanish Civil War. In fact it will be our featured product for January, discounted to just £4.00 GBP

Is the English version of this available from WSS yet? I'd be interested in obtaining a copy.
