Hi Guys, I recently acquired a Merrimack Models / J&T Miniatures / Old Glory 25mm pirate ship (
the "adventure galley") and I'm looking for some photos of some build versions of it since the instructions are not great so
*** Anyone now where there are photographic miniatures galleries showing built ships from Merrimack / Old Glory? *** In particular, I would like to know how to use the rigging kit that came with mine, which doesn't appear to be in production any more. I'm NOT a "nautical gearhead" so putting the pirate ship together has been a real slog for me, having to learn what the name for every darn piece of rope and wood on the ship. In particular I can't figure out what the name is for the places that the ropes attach to on the deck
they have little wooden pieces that fit into holes where the excess rope is tied after it goes through the deadeyes. That piece is eluding me! ACK! Thanks to everyone ahead of time! Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. 6mm-minis.blogspot.com |

Yep, sounds like 'belaying pins', Maksim. |

I wish such models had good instructions, but I know they don't have technical writers on staff. Scares me from buying them. |

There were specific instructions for the riging kit, which I asuming he didn't recieve. We are trying to find a copy and will email those to him. The term you are looking for is the side boards. We will have some photos for him tomorrow. The Adventure Galley photos that we have are on another CD that we have of photos from a computer that went down on us and our son was able to get the information off. Joel |

Hi Everyone, I did get the directions, but they must be an older copy, because few of the pieces are labelled in the photos and illustrations
and the directions are full of typos, mispellings, and bad grammar
must be an early copy. I'm very impressed with the customer service from Old Glory / Merrimack. Teresa has been wonderful. Thanks too, Joel! The things I was thinking of is called a belaying pin. I'm not sure what the rack or bin for belaying pins is called. Thanks everyone! Makes me regret making fun of the USMC "barnacle buts" when I was in
some of the officers I knew and still do, have helped me after I E-mailed them. Well, I guess that's par for a former "zoomie." Can't wait to write about the process of getting my ship together and sharing photos. Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. 6mm-minis.blogspot.com |

About four years ago, I picked 1/300 16th c. ship from them, and the 'instructions' really ammounted to a quasi-exploded view parts list. Wasn't terribly helpful, an I didn't have much familiarity with the sail plan for ships of that early period. It's still only about 80% assembled. |
