Hello, I amt hinking to add some aircraft to my huge 1/6000 ship collection for palying VaS (that I intend to purchase saturday at Warfare) what people prefers to use? 1/1250 mCAP aircraft or 1/600 ones? Arrigo |

The 1/1250 scale planes will work nicely for your needs. I currently use them and like them a lot. |

I also use the 1:1250 Cap Aero with my 1/6000. |

ok thanks for the first replies
. I ask beacuse TD aircraft are really really nice and they cost less than CAP aero! Arrigo |

Actually they don't. I have both and while the TD aircraft come 1 to a pack, the CAP aircraft come in a number of sized packs depending on the aircraft size. So a B52 is 1 to a pack, F14s come 4 to a pack and F4s come 5 to a pack. Dan |

mhmm from Dom's site TD aircraft come in packs too. Almost same numbers but half price. |

Many of us use a different scale (size) aircraft with our ships for wargaming. Each persons preferences differ. I do not think 1/600 scale aircraft (TD) look right with 1/3000 scale ships. I use 1/1200 scale aircraft (Cap Aero) with them. Suggest you buy a pack of TD and see what you think. Also, if you decide on bigger aircraft you might want to consider the 1/700 scale plastics. They are quite a bit cheaper than TD and offer a fair variety. |

I actualy use carrier aircraft from GHQ's 1/2400th line
. works awesome |

Arrigo, you are correct and I apoligize to TD. I was thinking of the 1/300 I just got at the same time as I got some 1/600. Senior moment (smile). Dan |

If you're going with 1/600 I'd definitely use 1 model per flight rather than per plane. Bit of a tough call that one; I use 1/600 with 1/3000 ships, but with 1/6000 the size discrepancy for the heavies may be a bit much. If you're sticking to mainly single-engined / carrier stuff I'd probably go with 1/600, but if you're planning on wheeling out B17s and suchlike the smaller scale is likely the better call. Dom. |

I use GHQ's 1/2400 aircraft. However, so far, they only have the Pacific covered. |

I painted some 1:1250 Cap Aero planes, and they are okay. Well, sort of okay. Decals are not available in 1:1250 scale for the wing and fuselage, and I am not good at painting roundels on the US planes. So, I'm not happy with the final result, but only for that reason. Otherwise, the size of the 1:1250 planes is a good match with 1:6000 ships. I have considered getting some 1:600 planes because decals are available in that scale. Also, there seems to be a much wider selection available in 1:600. I think the larger planes probably will look odd with 1:6000 ships. But it will be fun to paint some up just to see. |

I Just received my order of Figurehead Coral Sea Japanese fleet, and was wondering if anyone has any pics you can point me to of painted models? Or of any in game pics? Also is there any painting tips for painting ships so small? Thanks for any help, Brian |

To paint, use a magnifier, such as "Opticaid" (URL may be broken up by TMP, so need to reconnect): link |

Whoops, sorry for continuing the thread hijack
Back on topic, has anyone pictures of the GHQ 1/2400 AC used with 1/6000? Note that GHQ has apparently scheduled additional 1/2400 AC releases, covering European WWII aircraft: link |

I thought I posted that in another thread. Sorry for the misspost. But thanks HindsTMP for the links and info. I am using head mounted magnifying glass which really helps and highly recomend. Sorry for initiating a hijack. I also need to buy some aircraft and will give Cap Aero a look. |
