Gents,
Anyone own this? It looks like a nice volume from a write I respect in a period that interests me. But before I pay for it, want to get opinions from others.
Thanks!

I am quite pleased with my copy.

The CD scenarios look very interesting (though I haven't played any yet) and the OBs for the various forces are very comprehensive.

I think it is the single best wargaming volume produced on the early phase of the North African campaign for OBs. I already own a lot of the data in it, but that's spread over dozens of books. Benghazi Handicap also probably has the most up to date OB info for the Italians available in English. What makes it great is that it can be used with Command Decision or any game where the basic element is a platoon. My only niggles are some of the painting info for the British. BH recommends Caunter all the way to the end of 41 and I don't agree with that, especially for Operation Crusader, but that is truly a minor nit to pick. It is well worth the money.

Anyone know the topic of the the next CD supplement and when it is due to be released?

The best wargaming resource I have – the level of detail is fabulous. Can't remember what the next supplement is going to be – testofbattle.com is the place to look.

Fabulous book. I can't say enough good things about it. You won't find better Italian army OB's in english anywhere.

I concur. It has a ton of data on obscure Italian units that I never even realized existed. Plus Frank Chadwick's writing is highly enjoyable. Highly Recommended.

The list of supplements due top arrive is on WWW.testofbattle.com.

The next to become available is the second desert campaign guide and the US Army guide book.. (I think)

I just got my copy (thanks to my friend Ray, who picked it up for me at Fall In). It looks like a wonderful reference book, and I'm looking forward to trying some of the scenarios. In addition to the historical background and OB's, it also includes painting info and tips on creating desert terrain.

I'm definitely planning to buy the next volume on the desert war.
