Hi All,

I've been building a 28mm fantasy / horror army and having a great time of it.

You can find some photos of my 28mm undead army here:

I was recently given a really old GW / Citadel pumpkin-headed figure from what I belive is the old Citadel "Night Horrors" line.

I really liked the figure and would now like to build a unit of pumpkin-headed baddies…

I started converting existing 25mm to 28mm garbage fantasy figures by lopping off heads and mounting pumpkins, so my question is:

*** What are good sources for pumpkin heads and / or pumpkin'headed miniatures? ***

Here's what I know about:

- Reaper makes a pack of 28mm pumpkins for dioramas
- West Wind has several 28mm pumpkin-headed figures in the "Vampire Wars" line
- Old Ral Partha used to have a small assortment of pumpkin-headed figures in their 28mm fantasy line

Links to the figs I already know about would be as appreciated as of ones I'm unaware of.

Thanks ahead of time!

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi All,

I'm almost forgot to mention that I would be just as happy with small plastic toy or curio pumpkins as I owuld for parts actually intended for miniatures.

I'm mostly looking for minis with pumpkin heads or pumpkins to mount as heads on existing headless minis.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

RAFM, I believe, has a bunch of pumpkin headed miniatures. Or not. I can't recall for certain. Look in their scarecrow line of fantasy.

I bought a graveyard set from Michael's craft store that included wrought iron fencing that had a great number of pumpkins across the top. Since I didn't want them on my graveyard fence, I cut them all off. Rather than throw them away, I lopped the head off of a rage zombie and stuck one on. I liked the result, so I will be creating a whole host of pumpkin headed-ghoulies for my Chaos in Carpathia games. The graveyard set was part of one of those holiday village sets, which should be going on sale soon with the approach of Halloween. Keep an eye out at your local craft store.

There might be one in the Blue Moon Legend of Sleepy Hollow pack. The West Wind pumpkin heads are really nice.

Rackham do a pack of 3 in their confrontation line called pixie tricksters.

Fenryll do halloween jack (scroll down to Fen FM89) link and a whole pile of pumkins with small arms and legs in their humourous section link (again, scroll down).

Plus if you want a Pumpkin Knight, you could try the Knight of Autumn Gate from Dreamblade:

Ral Partha also do a headless horseman carrying a pumpkin head.

And then there's Brawler 3 – Devil's Knight from Superfigs:

Dravi 74 is correct . Reaper make a batch plus some familer packs. Old citadel familer scare crow . Rafm have scarecrows with pumpkin heads

A pumpkin headed citadel is likely to be the RuneQuest jack o'bear.

There are versions of the figure in most of the RuneQuest licensed ranges.

Busch (model railroad scenery company) makes a HO scale pumpkin patch set. The pumpkins are styrene, like what GW plastic models are made of – and you get 80 pumpkins in the pack along with other bits. They look pretty good in the 25-28mm scale.

They also have an 0 scale set.

I haven't used that one though…so I can't comment on what it is made of or quality of the product. The first one linked to though, is really good.

Ral Partha had both a vaguely pumpkin-headed Jack-'o-bear in their old Runequest line, and Lesser and Greater Pumpkinheads in the Crucible line. The Jack-'o-bear is long gone, but the Crucible line survives with Iron Wind Metals.

ARKIIV also had a RQ Jack-'o-bear. Not sure if those are still around or not.

Lance & Laser has a RQ/HeroQuest license as well, though I don't know if they've done a Jack-'o-bear.

MegaMinis had a line of pumpkin "characters" at one point. I don't know if those were native or part of a line they were offering.

Those were Fenryll

The Rafm ones are really cool. I just ran a Halloween-type FRPG scenario for a charity fund raiser last weekend that included an undead scarecrow unit (7 pumpkin-headed figures). I had a couple of pieces of 8 x 10 felt cloth out that looked like a dirt field and I put some lichen on the felt in rows to look like a cultivated patch on a stretch of farmland.

On top of the felt I put Reaper's pumpkins here and there and had one lone scarecrow standing in the middle of the field (the Rafm one on the wooden cross).

When the PCs camped out that night near the field, the other pumpkinheads came out of the fields and scared the living Hell out of the guys in the game. Freaked them out that I had so many of these things painted up.

Maksim--I'd love to see pics when you put your pumpkinhead army together. ;-}~

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all of the advice.

I'll be sure to share photos of the pumpkin heads as I finish them.

And as a side note, I'm not palnning to build an entire army of them, only a unit of about 20 to 30 of the orange guys.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
