I have some 1/144 P-40s that I want to paint up for Hell's Angels squadron of Flying Tigers.
Does anyone make the nude red female silhouettes in 1/144 scale?
Or, for that matter, the Japanese flag "kill" decals for under the cockpit?
I know that True North makes the Chinese roundels.

I am sure that some would like some naughty nose art for their B17s and B24s, too.

At that scale, can you realy tell if its "naughty"?

Gunbird17 Oct 2007 9:59 a.m. PST

Yes, you can.

You could give Fighting Pirhana decals a try, they have several sheets with nose art on them that could be usefull, but sadly not the red nudes. They do custom work though, so that might be your thing.

Hope that helps.

John, Hobby Link Japan lists many 1/144 decal sheets, some in stock, some on back order, some discontinued:

Some are for US WWII subjects, you might be able to find useful saucy artwork on those or others.

I don't know of any 1/144 Flying Tigers decal sheets. This is probably because no one makes an appropriate plastic kit. I bet if Sweet would release a P-40B, we'd soon see aftermarket decals for the AVG.

I have some kill markings I can spare from some F6F kit decals. I'll mail those off to you.

John,

You could take artwork and reduce to sice and then print it out in a clear decals sheet.

John, starship modeler has cheesecake/naughty decals link
Some might be appropriate for nose art. Kevin

Thanks for that link Kevin. I have to get a sheet of those little pinup gals.

The Starship Modeler decals are listed as 1/72 and 1/48 scale. The smaller ones work on 1/144 scale minis and don't seem huge, others work fine on 1/100 scale aircraft, some are more appropriately sized for bombers rather than fighters, and some of mine may end up on the Emporer's 40K 28MM Forge World models…and others would probably be more suited for the pages of girlie magazines.

If you make your own decals (or tranfers, as us Brits are prone to call them), there is a seller on ebay who often sells cds of artwork that may be useful. Can't remember who, so I'm afraid you would have to do a search.

Norm over at Scale Specialties has told me that he will soon have a set ready in 1/144th. His actual subcontractor is Micro Scale so you know the regestration will be spot on!

John, I'd wait another two weeks for these!

Considering I want them for GFI P40s, I will keep your recommendation in mind.
