Thanks much to all the Check Your 6! players at Historicon. We had over 100 people play in our 20 demo games and many others in the other non-demo games we played. Your understanding of our tiredness was greatly appreciated, especially when we were getting toward the end of the evening!

We will soon post the winners of the ACE ON YOUR 6! campaign that was played, lets just say the overall winner (with 4 kills) happens to be a former Marine Pilot – seems he still can fly pretty well.

We are planning several games for Fall In – one will most likely be a big game with several Combat Altitude Bands (CABs). At this point we are thinking about Midway but we will see.

We have also started work on a Korean War scenario book and are well along on a scenario book focused on the air defense of Hungary in 1944-45.

And thanks to you guys too! I had a blast, found some players that don't live too far away, and have validated my reasons/excuses for getting so many minis.

I have one recommendation…the Gladiators and CR.42s could use a "relief" tube (solely for pilot comfort during those huge Saturday night fur balls).

Scott-

I saw on the website the announcement that the demo video was released but I can't seem to find it. Could you post a link to it here or on the website? I'm dying to watch it. Thank you.

My son and I played several games, had a great time. Picked up quite a few little planes myself.

Those Gladiators that where used in the demo where outstanding.

Didn't get to check out the games (our club was running stuff all day Fri/Sat) but one of my buddies saw a game and picked up the rules, looking to replace the sets we've tried so far.

I played in the Defense of Rangoon Compaign on Friday. Had a great time and really enjoyed the way the campaign works. Really makes you think on which option to take before each game. Thanks Scout for a great set of rules and Thanks to Mark for the fun time with the campaign game.

Hats off to Scott, CB, Alvin, Phil, and others for running great CY6 demos and games at Historicon this past weekend! If any of you out there missed Historicon, make the attempt to attend Fall-In in Gettysburg this November and check this game out in person and meet the guys. Now that I have the rules and some stands, I lok forward to running some games at our con here in Erie, PA (EDoG'07) in September.

Very nice video presentation. Well done. Thanks.

Having been an avid "MUSTANGS" player (Avalon Hill's game adapted for minis and with bombers added) thru the 90s, this looks as if it may have superceded it, in fun, excitement and elegence of the rules-system. I'll look forward to giving it a try.

The visual aspect of a game is also important to me. picture So, one question: Do planes visually change altitude on the gaming table as they maneuver about, or is that simply marked with the pegs on your flight stands? Thanks, and good luck with your new rules-set.

Scott-

Thanks for uploading that video. I really enjoyed watching it and will be ordering the rules soon. Just what I needed, another set of rules. Sigh. ;)

Paul in Seattle,

Normally we just mark the altitudes on the flight stand with dice, markers or arrows but many folks are taking about making adjustable stands for the game. There are only six Tactical Altitude levels (in each altitude band) so it should be pretty easily do-able to make adjustable stands. If someone makes them for 1/72 aircraft I will be the first to invest!

Scott

Hi Scott,

Will these rules be available in the UK?

Thanks

skirmishcampaigns1105 Sep 2007 12:21 p.m. PST

Yes – they will be available in the UK. If you query On Military Matters he may have sent a bunch to the UK.
