I have read through previousposts which ask simaler questions, but I am thinking of making a futuristic sports game. I have seen the adaptations of rollerball and there good but I fancy making my own. Anyway orginally I was going to convert GW miniatures so they game would be like a futuristic paring to blood bowl for fantasy. But i am unsure now. Anyone got any ideas for miniatures thatt are available. IS there any games already on the market like this. I know there is a lot of stuff for fantasy football , I would of thought there might be some future ones too. I saw a game once called grav ball thought about doing something like that at one sage using converted space marine devastators but changed my mind. any suggestions for minis or games? |

I have Grav Ball, it uses smallish 15mm figures. I'm not going to use it any time soon so if you want a copy, let me know. |

What about that future football game that Hasbro put out? Can't recall the name. It bombed but had figs of the same quality as Heroscape. Someone here will know the name. Bet you could get it cheap on Ebay. |

Cloudcaptain, great suggestion. The game is Battle Ball boardgamegeek.com/game/6795 my sons have it and I was impressed by the figures (though I never played the game.) Jake |

Wasn't Scurvy working on something and talking with a sculptor regards a rollerball-esque game and figures? |

In 1993 my servies were secured by an agent of a now defunct CCG company to design a modern sports game that would combine several, if not all (sighs in relative disgust), sports. The main catch was that the sports had to balance the rules, find common factors, and must be a type collected by sports cards people
so the big 4 baseball, basketball, football, and hockey. I got the group to allow for soccer, olympics, and cross over sports like the new trend towards X-games should be considered. Of course like 95% of all game design efforts it went no where, but I still have the basics and I am seriously considering applying them to a future sports game with miniatures. So in regards to your question, I had little luck finding basic sports miniatures to work with. So I am working on the basic forms for generic athletes to allow for player conversions and for me to work out the various sports angles. Hopefully by Christmas I will have 5-6 basic athletes with a bunch of appropriate conversion sprues. Good luck with your game and your project. |

Boy, generic Football players would be great too! I could finally make my planned six "Hurricanes beating UF" dioramas !!! That would be awsome. TYhen again, true Rollerball guys would be snatched up quickly as well. |

**Wasn't Scurvy working on something and talking with a sculptor regards a rollerball-esque game and figures?** Yes I do have a set of rules about 85% finished. Kev from Hasslefree was going to do the figs. Thing is with my current workload making animation the whole thing is on hold. :( On the upside, now I'm down in Melbourne when I do get it done I will be able to make sure its playtested to death before putting em out. Then the fact animators get paid stupid amounts of bucks means I will be able to fund a very slick looking product. |

right thanks for your input guys, I think I might just use 25/28mm american football miniatures if I can find any. So the next question is does anyone know where to get some from thanks |

Hasslefree have one or two female minis that look like rollerball players (minus the skates). |

You could always use the "vibrating metal football" game figures, but they are 1/64. Nice thing is being hard plastic, they are fairly easy to do surgery on. Their is a company that makes superdetailed football figures for said game, but I can't find the link. Will have to search under the "electric Football" topic I guess. |

Donkeys years ago there were a range of 15mm figures inspired by the Mean Arena street football strip in 2000AD. I've still got a few of these knocking about but for the life of me can't remember who produced them or what they were called. Anyone have any ideas?. |
