Here are some links to a project that seems further and further on my schedule each time.

However, if this helps others to get going, so much the better!

Absolutely Awesome C.C. Truly exceptional work. What scale is it? It looks very realistic.

Hitman,

Those are some research links I've been collecting for a future Hobbit Hole project I had (and still have) in mind to do.

I think I will try to follow the general underground layout shown in the map (first link):

I plan to have a removable top with it of course.

Have you ever noticed how Hobbit holes look like Teletubby homes?

I quite like GW's take on it -- not as detailed as PJ's vision, but then it's a lovely compromise between capturing the feel an being humanly possible in 28mm.

I know Miniature Building Authority makes a nice looking one.

I'd like to live in a real one if you keed keep the water out and get as much light in as you see in the movies. I've been in homes in Oklahoma that are built into the ground on three sides, and they are rather dark. But this is some really nice work.

Building one "from scratch" is one of those things I MUST do before I die.

But, when I do make it, I will have lots of rooms, like on the "Tolkien Bag End" map:

One day . . .

One day . . . but still not today. Man, all my projects keep getting postponed.

Geesh.

PS. Of course, these could easily end up being "Plan B":

Believe it or not, this is the floorplan for a real house!
