Any one know what the main color of their flag was? I'm almost finished painting them up. Help!

White, according to the 1768 reegulations.

In 25/28mm you can get it from "Flags for the Lads" sold by Brookhurst, on sheet RB7.

I bet a Google search will come up with something if you don't want to pay for it. Starting out, I used to hand paint all my flags, including Hessian and Brunswick, but I am fat, old and lazy now. Besides, FfTL does them better.

vtsaogames, a good rule of thumb that I learned is that in most cases the regimental flag of a British unit would be the same as the facing colors of their lapels.

Good luck on your project! :-)

Sorry, my post above was a bit brief and not altogether accurate. Light dragoon regiments had several guidons. The first (or King's) was crimson, the others were, for the 17th, white.

Go with John Watts except that the guidons wre left at home-not carried in America mainly because the unit was split into small parties like the 60 or so that went south with Tarleton.
