I read in an earlier post that Dennis Lunde of Miniature World USA was reported by his wife as being dead. Not the case!! This sleaze bag is still alive and back to his old tricks of trying to rip off unsuspecting people.

I won't go into detail, but I have been dealing with him over the past 6 weeks and he has tried (unsuccessfully) to rip me off. Back-fired on him this time though.

Dennis Lunde likes to be called 'Captain Dennis' and will tell you he held the rank of Captain in the US Navy retiring 3 months shy of being made an Admiral in order to care for his sick wife Susan.

He comes from Keyport Washington and buys and sells ship models and wargames figures. He has adverts on Bartertown and his ID is LOTRDioman. That's also his TMP tag.

*****WARNING*****

Dennis LUNDE is a conman and a liar. DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM!!

More details to back up your statement would be nice…

I tend to value the thread histories in these sorts of disputes. I've never had any dealings with the man in question; however, based upon the info here I wouldn't either.

Stay far away. One customer who tried dealing with him had the local law enforcement show up at his door. All moeny was returned. Be forewarned.

GoodBye15 Jun 2007 2:17 p.m. PST

Stay far away.

Well there you have it! I've met Lon and he is a gentleman. If there were doubts this should eradicate them.

nazrat15 Jun 2007 3:19 p.m. PST

So the guy is dead and he STILL is managing to cheat people? Man, now THAT'S a disreputable guy.

Has anybody checked into the supposed reports of his passing?

Charles Marlow15 Jun 2007 4:43 p.m. PST

Swine. No doupt, he'll reap what he's sown…

When your wife claims you are dead to cover your tracks --

that's a bad sign for anyone dealing with you.

15th Hussar15 Jun 2007 9:28 p.m. PST

Thanks to SynFlood and ADC…not doubting, but the "Danger Will Robinson!" message sounded more like "Typhoid Mary has a slight cough and is on a planet near you!" than anything specific…hence my request!

I have had contact from someone using the same ID Lotrdioman under the name of Capt Raye Deno, he gives a PO box number in Bremerton WA.
I don't know if this is the same person. He tried to trade some figures with me and the figures never showed up.

ADC to GDB16 Jun 2007 3:06 a.m. PST

malamute,

Yep, that's the same guy I dealt with. deno raye was one of the email address's I have for him.

As stated above, he's Dennis Lunde, a creep, liar and fraud!!

Did you send him any figures??

malamute16 Jun 2007 3:35 a.m. PST

No! I was waiting to receive the figures before sending mine onto him. This was back in march.

ADC to GDB16 Jun 2007 5:23 a.m. PST

Malamute,

A close call, glad you didn't send him anything. He'd only claim to have never received it.

Don't be scared to send him an email letting him know that you are now aware of his true identity and what a rat he really is.

rmcaras16 Jun 2007 6:21 a.m. PST

did the fellow from Canada, out $370 USD USD ever get his money back?

The link above to the activity with this guy back in October 06 indicated the Lundes had turned the MO over to the authorities; why didn't they send it themselves and give the receipt to the authorities instead?

so just wondering.

man that family claims dying people so often its surprising anyone is left alive to fleece people.

ADC to GDB17 Jun 2007 1:09 a.m. PST

I've notified Dennis Lunde of this posting.

I call on him to answer all the allegations levelled at him on this thread and attachments.

Let's see if this sneak thief has the courage to answer his accussors!!

Sane Max17 Jun 2007 5:21 a.m. PST

Here's fun.

Not only did Dennis Lunde die last year, he died AGAIN in february this year – see the attached link.

I am not willing to criticise him on here – a man who can die, rise and die again MUST be telling the truth.

Pat

nazrat17 Jun 2007 9:37 a.m. PST

Wow, he's the Gaming Messiah! We should actually be worshipping him, NOT berating his crookedness!

(Sarcasm OFF!)

What a scumbag…

"I am not willing to criticise him on here – a man who can die, rise and die again MUST be telling the truth.

I don't know if that means he tells the truth, but it sounds like he might be hard to kill…..

a stake in the heart? silver bullets? garlic?

a slim jim?

Hasslefriesian17 Jun 2007 11:58 a.m. PST

"He's not the Messiah! He's a very naughty boy!"

He tried to fleece us too, last year. Gets around a bit, does old Cpt. Dennis.

nazrat17 Jun 2007 7:57 p.m. PST

Was this pre- or post- death? Man, I swear this is like a really bizarre comedy routine, or a superb bit of Python (and a wonderful reference, Kev!).

Hasslefriesian18 Jun 2007 1:18 a.m. PST

It was pre-death, IIRC.

dennis lunde is not dead….that was a scam he tried over the fall with a large deal with several folks over unapainted napoleonic figures and a guy on the east coast over casting equipment…the sheriff of kitsap county went out to the house to confirm he was still alive and give him the big warning…monies were returned….he scams in several forums including collectible weapons as well as minis and equipment……

ok this guy just wrote me a check on a closed account I live in Bremerton I am I on the way to his home. Home I can get something from him I may have to end up calling the cops. But I know he is alive.

ADC to GDB28 Jul 2007 4:25 p.m. PST

My advice is definitely notify the police before attending his house regardless.

Dennis is well known to the local police as a lying scumbag but the little sneak always coffs up once he knows the police have been notified.

He's a gutless little gutter thief who will say anything to get out of paying for what he has bought or not sending what he has sold. He relies on lies such as he's got cancer, his wifes got cancer or the such right down to his co-offender wife telling people he's dead.

My personal experiences with Dennis Lunde were a nightmare. Luckily I ended up getting the better of him but what a rollercoaster ride it was to get there. He is aware of this thread as I advised him when I strted it and invited him to face his accussors in an open response.

Dennis Lunde is the jack the ripper of the hobby and everyone needs to be aware that he operates on this and many othere forums.

Fifty430 Jul 2007 8:50 a.m. PST

He's bad news -- you can see the "soap opera" that some of us went through not too long ago with him.

Irish Eyes Are Smiling02 Dec 2007 7:16 p.m. PST

Hi, it's been a while. In response to RMCARAS, yes I did get my $370 USD back. I left my e-mail address on one of the other links. I've been contacted by a number of individuals who were all scammed this year. I've put them in contact with the Kitsap County Sherriff's office, the Prosecution Office etc. as Dennis Lunde senior, Dennis Lunde junior and Dennis' wife Susan are all still alive and in the Bremerton area. Suffice to say quite a number of individuals contact me from time to time, and I provide contact information for authorities, advising everyone to save all e-mails, receipts for money orders, personal checks, drafts etc. The U.S. authorities have been most helpful in following up on Dennis' activities and appear to have a huge data base of history. The latest group, and I do mean group, to contact me included a number of model boat builders who've had less than satisfactory dealings with Dennis Lunde.

I can be reached at Michael.Hopper@gov.mb.ca. I don't keep secrets and will answer all e-mails regarding this person.
